I don't think that NBC approves AOS cases - so it looks like they're transferred. My hubby's NOA is from 5/8 and our case still sits there - no transfers, touches since 5/31 (after biometrics)...

There doesn't seem to be any answer.

11/2004 - Met in Brazil

09/2006 - Apply for K1

03/2007 - K1 approved

04/2007 - Apply for AOS & EAD

07/2007 - EAD approved

01/2008 - Conditional Residency approved

11/2009 - Apply to remove conditions

02/2010 - Permanent Residency approved

11/2010 - Apply for Citizenship

03/2011 - Citizenship approved

07/2011 - Moved back to Brazil

You were asked a valid question, Sand. :)

Not all petitions for people residing in California go to CSC...there are local offices. Just because you live in Cali does not mean you will automatically be transferred to CSC and not be interviewed.

When the District Office (DO) that has jurisdiction over your location is ready to take new files for interview, NVC will transfer your file to them. You can check the timeline of your DO in the USCIS website if you want an indication as to how long it will take them to get to your case.

08/17/08: Mailed N400 to TSC

08/19/08: USPS attempted delivery

08/20/08: TSC received N400

08/21/08: TSC cashed check

09/02/08: Received NOA...........Priority date: 08/20/08

..............................................Notice date : 08/22/08

09/02/08: Received Biometrics Notification

09/18/08: Biometrics completed - Charlotte DO

10/24/08: Received Interview Letter

12/08/08: Interview @ 1:00pm. APPROVED!

01/05/09: Oath Ceremony 10:00AM. Now officially a USC!!!

01/17/09: Applied for US Passport and passport card

If you are interviewed you will be interviewed in your local USCIS office, people don't get interviewed at the California Service Center. If your case is transferred to the CSC then you will not be interviewed, but that is a big "if". As to when this will happen: It will happen when it happens, nobody knows the answer to your question.

there are several local offices in California where interviews take place. use the office locator to see which one serves the area you live.

Well, once the local office (not CSC obviously as they don't interview) receives your case (can sometimes take a couple of weeks at least) they will then allocate you an interview slot and write to you with that information.

None of us here can really answer your question with specifics; you're just going to have to have a little patience. ;)
