My Chinese wife's good friend's husband was visiting her in China when he had a serious circulation problem in his leg. He had to be evacuated for an amputation. Within a few weeks, his wife was granted a tourist visa but still needed to return to China to complete the immigrant visa process. This was a CR1 case. As I recall, a local Congressperson was involved in expediting her visa. She and her small child traveled to LAX with my wife and daughter last August and stayed for a few months. She then returned to China, got the CR1 visa and returned to the USA permanently.

Advanced parole was not available. That's for people who have their K1 visa and/or are waiting for AOS to be completed.

On the other hand, I know of a couple women whose husbands died during the visa process. They were not allowed to come to the USA to settle affairs etc.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
