Hee hee.. I'm not a Stevo fan meself.. but he's not the "horribly scary bigot" that the media tried to paint him during the elections.. I'd say he's playing things safe right now.. perhaps he's waiting for the 5th or 6th mandate to pull all the stops out?

That may be true, but I never believed that Paul Martin was the horribly scary corrupt dude that the conservatives made him out to be (and by gosh, the voters fell for it too!)

I never found Paul scary, corrupt yes, scary, not so much.

I would say it was more accurate that he had corrupt individuals on his campaign team and as his advisers rather than that he himself was corrupt. That does, however, make a comment about his judgment of some individuals. He had my support, none-the-less:-) - and he did inherit huge problems from Jean Chretien.

Really? You experience media that painted Paulie as scary? hmmmm what part of the country were you in?? Wondered if it was a regional thing? the media I heard on the East coast was ALL for Martin and TOTALLY slammed the Evil Western Witch!

hee hee.. Think you are right on the money there.. I think he had at least more "personality" than Stevo.. He seems lifeless in his interviews..

And lets face it... most high ranking gov officials are in "some" way corrupt no (talking professionally here)????? How do they get to the "top"? It's certainly because they have proven they are "masters" of handling people and circumstance.. and usually it's by "stretching" truth to make it palatable to the average Joe.. (perhaps I'm jaded)..

That's funny because I remember (in Alberta) hearing how the media in the East was portraying Stevo as the Evil Western Witch, how it wasn't true and would they fall for it!?

The way I saw it (with Paul) is that, with regard to Ad Scam, he was the finance minister - he claimed he knew nothing about it - whether he did or not only he knows, however the fact that he was finance minister at the time and millions of dollars were stolen, and he didn't know, in my opinion, didn't really say much about his leadership/management ability.

Yep... ya know.. just for once I'd like to see a politician say.. you know I didn't know about it but I SHOULD have known about it therefore since I"m the HEAD of the place, I will take the fall..
