Hi Lona, Thanks for the words, people like you are special.

The situation with Debbie is cleared up, if they wanted a REF concerning the alcohol problem they should have asked for one, I have the letter from the doctor regarding the test which came back clean, Debbie made me mad because she noted in the file that she smelled alcohol on my breath and that was not possible and the cause of the 212(g) I received which by itself would not warant an I-601 waiver. The 212(a)(2)(A)(1) is the one that warants the I-601 as it was an indictable offence even if it war committed 32 years ago and pardonded 17 years ago because I was slow getting it. I was staying away from the Montrealsite except for veiwing for emotional reasons, the last 4 months have been hard on us because Sharon's father was so ill and these last few weeks have been going through heII and next few weeks will be difficult also. Soon I will be able to visit the Montreal site and be able to post as I have in the past. It is difficult to be positive for others when we can't yet for ourselves.

Rick, thank you also, you just got me at a bad time which is why I didn't reply to your last.

Just thought I would pop in here and throw some good vibes your way!

Whatever you two decide to do, all your VJ friends are behind you, and I know you guys will get through this and come out stronger as a result.

I would say stay strong, but you guys seem to be doing more than fine in that department, (I love your whole kicking butt and taking names approach to all this, it is honestly more than most of us would be able to muster up in a situation like this, so I commend you for your strength and endless reserves of willpower.)

Keep at it, good news is coming your way, I can feel it. What you two have is definetely worth fighting for :)

Misty, thank you for visiting and for the good vibes, we can always use some of those. Our decision has been to go on with whatever they want us to do to be together, if we can't be together it is because we died trying not because we stopped trying. I know that there are many wonderful people here supporting us even if not everyone says so, we know that they are there for us and that is encouraging and very supportive to us. Our strength comes from many different areas, from our own hearts and the love we have for each other and from you and many others like you that have given their time to be with us and their words to comfort and encourage us to continue on the path we have chosen. As for the kick butt attitude, that may become a problem, I think they expect us Canadians to grin and bear it, but they got one this time that will not roll over give up. As I said before the visa is not our only option it is the one we want but we have other avenues available to us and as long as we can see the other options we are still in control of our lives and our choices. We are both living the loving life we have not had in the past and will not see again.

Hi Tinker, don’t worry about what you deleted I’m sure that it was something wonderful. That girl at work is right “this too will pass” all that we need is time. I hope everything is going well for you and you’re not too stressed out yet. I’m still keeping an eye on you and everyone else in the Montreal tread you are all family to us.

Good morning Karina, you have to remember that what we have in courage and strength comes from wonderful people like yourself. The more support we get the more inspired and determined we are. Without everyone here having been behinds us and with us all the way we would have fought but it would have been more difficult. Thank you for thinking of us, we will not let anyone down and let your thoughts, wishes, support and everything else be for naught.

Thank you for the alphabet, I will print that out as a reminder.

Lona, because people like you don't see themselves as special there are people like me who see it, appreciate it and are thankful that there are people like you who are always there even when we don't realize we need you. Sharon is with me everyday, many times every day and you as well as others are here everyday and reachable in a good or bad time and I do count on everyone for comments good and bad, support when needed, big grins at the funny things being said and heart warming news when things go right and even the heart wrenching tear jerking posts when things are stressful or something goes wrong.

I heard from CBP this morning and I will be able to enter the States for 7 days, not a long time since I will be travelling 2 days each way. I don't know if you read my other post if not the trip is attend Sharon's father's funeral next Monday.

I am glad that you made it through the maze and are well on your way. I have never been denied access to the States in my life even with my criminal record, perhaps it was because I never told them I had one and was never asked. Maybe I should have stressed out over the criminal record also, then maybe things would have turned out better for us too. i had no fear of the criminal record being a problem since it is older than many of the folks here and it was pardoned a very long time age also. I beleive that there is more to this in our case than can be seen, much like an iceberg there seems to me to be more hidden from view than is visible. Such as after the adjudication and if the adjudication is in my favor Montreal will conduct another interview at which if it pleases could find another reason for another I-601 and the whole process could go on for yet another many years to come.

Ron, since no office can give you exact timing, it's pretty normal for one person to say one thing (3-12 months) and another to say something else (12-18 months). Post waiver approval, there is a second "interview"/visa pick up. If one year has passed, new documents and medical exam results are required.

I'm confused about the alcohol thing. "Alcohol abuse" or whatever they are calling it is NOT waivable. So it appears to me you are only dealing with the criminal issue. Do you have the exact denial codes to be clear on what needs to be addressed? Since you do qualify for a waiver, seems like you should go for it unless it's easier for her to move there. Just my opinion.

I beleive that the 221(g) for alcoholism is a REF only.
