Good day everyone,,, pls we need your advice... my husband and I went to the civil surgeon for my TD shots and i wondered why i still have to undergo the same medical exam which was done already in the Philippines... all i know is only TD shots here in US. They are asking for the X-ray result but the hospital os US embassy in manila only gave us the x-ray film and the vaccination record.

My question is,, do i still really need to undergo medical exam here in US for the I-693? Pls we need your advice, are we on the right direction?

Thanks for the reply!

This is a scenario that replays over and over here on VJ with the CS wanting to do another medical.

No, you do NOT need another medical, it is good for 1 year.

Check with different CS if the one you are dealing with is uncooperative. Fees vary greatly. If you are near another state you can use

one there also.

No you do not need to take this physical again. all you need is the shot record. if this doctor won't do it for you I would advise you to call around to other doctors and tell them on the phone before you go to their office that you have already done the physical and all you need is your shot record the form is I-693A form. My friend in Miami ended up paying for the whole physical again for his wife. I called 1st and told them exactley what I needed. I found a place that told me on the phone yes we can do this before I went. I did not even have to bring my wife. I went on my lunch break from work it took about 30 minutes they transfered the shot record onto the I-693a form and signed it. and that was it. So call around 1st and tell them all you need is this I -693a form done it's just a transfer from your shot record.

If you had your medical exam already, you do not need another one. However the CS's around here continue to try to do this.

So, you are okay with your vaccinations right? if so, all you need is the I-693A vaccination supplement sheet. A CS will have this. If you can't find one who will do this for you without a whole new exam, call the CS that i used. I paid $10 and mailed him my vaccination documents. He filled it out, signed it, and I received everything back within a week.

No way! I mailed him all of my stuff - the DS-3025 vaccination sheet and my vaccination record. All you have to do is call them and they will tell you what you need! Yep, much easier!

So you got your I-693A sheet back in the Phillipines? I suppose I am lost! I understand getting your TD shot at a clinic which I know is possible; however, I don't understand who then transferred that record to the I-693A. If you didn't send it form I-693A, you got lucky. Some people get away with it while others are getting RFE's.
