Chopf***s like this used to roam our apartment complex when I was in college, selling whatever ####### wares they could to fill their pockets. I never opened the door to them if I was home alone, and if I wasn't and I realized it was one of them, I promptly shut the door in their faces.

It will never happen again (this particular scam that is).

When I was getting out of my car I was approached by 2 nicely dressed mid 20s guys. One black guy and a white guy. They were selling 2 things.. a calculator and a 'forever' flashlight. I said no to the calculator but the light was only $6 so I bought it. He shook it and the LED bulb lit up. Sweet!

I went home and played with it and it stopped working and I opened it up to bend one the contacts to make it work again. Upon a more detailed inspection I noticed the copper coil wasn't connected to anything. The LED light was just running on batteries and the copper coil and slug were just for show. The whole thing stopped working the next day and I threw it away.

Only $6 but I'm pissed. Too good to be true. :(

You didn't have enough money on you for the flat screen TV? LOL

i bought a rolex once for $5.00

When I visited NYC I wanted to find a fake Rolex so badly. I wanted a "bad" fake though...I was hoping to find a "Romex" or something. Just for kicks. I'm weird that way. ;)

That's what prompted me to post this. But no.. I haven't bought a flat screen TV... yet. :)

I have bought fake Rolexes in Thailand before. Decent automatic movement (sweep hand like the real thing) for only $20 to 25 USD

I bought some "Oakley" sunglasses when I was in NYC for $5 off some guy (You know, thinking about it, I was only 13, why did our chaperones let me talk to a random guy on the street on NYC?....). All my friends paid $10 for theirs and I bargained him down :P:thumbs:

Was it a Kirby (300 sounds about right for a new one), Filter Queen (that one actually can set you back $1,500+) or Rainbow (filters through water, similar price to the Queen)?

So, the Rainbow (like the Filter Queen) can be used as an air-filtration system?

(I know the Rainbow blows through water, where the Queen blows into conical paper)

the Rainbow is actually called an air filtration cleaning device :P

The water is the filter in the rainbow. You can also use it to reverse air flow (blow out thru it instead of suck). I blow up my rafts and stuff with it every summer. And I have a shampooer attachment for it too.
