My Husband was asked via email to send the 864...

He went to the website and it said to send the 864 with the barcode sheet - where do you get that

and where does he send the completed 864.

NVC never ask via e-mail to send a form, they will send you a letter with the barcode sheet. You need to download the I-864 fill it out and send it with the barcode sheet. If you want you can use James short cuts to prepare your barcode sheet, but before you guys do anything check with the NVC on the phone if your AOS package has been generated already. If it has been than go to: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...cuts&st=150

follow all the instruction to modify the barcode.

If you follow James' steps word for word, you shouldn't have any issues generating your own I-864 coversheet.

NVC never ask via e-mail to send a form, they will send you a letter with the barcode sheet.

You probably mean this email:

Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC).

A packet containing the Immigrant Visa Processing Fee Bill has been sent to

the designated agent or attorney of record. The payment due amount listed on

the fee bill must be paid according to the instructions before the DS-230

will be accepted.

The NVC is waiting for form I-864 (Affidavit of Support) to be completed by

the petitioner. The petitioner must complete a Form I-864, regardless of the

petitioner's income level. Please have the petitioner complete this form and

return it according to the instructions so that we may continue processing

this file.

Please visit http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_1335.html to

download a copy of the I-864 and/or the instructions. If you do not have

access to the internet, you may wish to visit your local library or an

internet café.

Regards,

National Visa Center

It is misleading, it kind of sounds like they are saying download it and send it, but really they are not. As mentioned you can either use James's shortcuts and generate your own coversheet and send it in with the completed I-864 or wait and they will send you a cover sheet in the mail (they don't send the actual I-864 form though, so you may as well go ahead and fill that out and print it as soon as you are ready, then either use your self generated cover sheet with it or wait for the one they are sending you in the mail).

yeah that's almost exactly what he got. he called them this morning to find out what he was supposed to do and they said to just wait as they had mailed it to him last week, so he should be getting it soon. we're too nervous to use Jame's shortcuts!!

anyway, thank you all for replying!
