Hello all,

Just a quick question regarding PCCs.

My wife's official home is in Kerala but she studied (college) in Bangalore from 2002 - 2006.

The passport is registered in Trivandrum (Kerala) and here offical address (I-130 address) is in Kerala as well.

So which PCCs are required? just the Kerala only (Trivandrum and her official address)?

I mean she didn't live in Bangalore consistently for 12 months (she came to Kerala during the summer break). So does she need a bangalore PCC as well?

Does she have any proof that she resided in Bangalore, like lease agreement, voter card, bank account in Bangalore, etc.? If not, then she probably doesn't need to get a PCC from Bangalore.

My husband was living in Hyderabad for 2 years but they said they could not give him a PCC because he had no proof or residency. He just got a PCC from the passport office in Visakhapatnam (where he was issued his passport) and from his village local office near there, and no one asked for any other PCC.

I guess the only proof would be her college diploma. I did mention that she was in bangalore for college in the I-130 application.

I think you are OK without getting the PCC from Bangalore. Even if she tried, she would be told it was not possible because just the diploma is not proof of residency.

My husband also put on all his applications including the bio, that he resided in Hyd and he gave 2 different addresses over two years. But still no one said anything about a PCC from there being necessary. So you don't need to worry about it.

Well if you husband was in Vishakpatanam, did you write that down in the G-325A? They are going to want to know all the places he resided in the last 5 years.

In the case of my wife, she did not officially own any property or anything like that. she lived in a college campus along with other students. the building she lived was part of the college buildings so there is no offical lease agreement. During Summer Vacation she would go back to Kerala. So she did not continously live in Bangalore throught the entire year as well. thank you eileen, i appreciate the input. :)

You're welcome. :)

Yes, of course he wrote down the Hyd addresses and dates on the G-325A. Also, he never stayed in Visakhapatnam, it is not even in the district where his native village is (East Godavari)! So I was surprised that they didn't request Hyd PCC (where he did live) and just accepted Vizag PCC though he never lived there. I think mainly they want the PCC from the passport office where passport was issued, regardless of whether the person ever lived there, and a PCC from the local office, where one stayed or has family home.
