Anyone out there want to start a VJ ME/NA exercise support group? I fell off the exercise wagon one my DH arrived in the US and desperately need to get back on. If there is anyone out there who wants to be an exercise buddy, or a group of people, I would appreciate it. Having people hold me accountable for my goals helps me stay on them!

Sometime in 2008 - Received 10 year GC. Almost done with USCIS for life inshaAllah! Huzzah!

12/07/08 - Adopted the fuzzy feline love of my life, my Squeaky baby th_catcrazy.gif

02/23/09 - Apply for citizenship

06/15/09 - Citizenship interview

07/15/09 - Citizenship ceremony. Alhamdulilah, the US now has another american muslim!

National Visa letter saying file moved to Amman. Was completed and sent on 12/16/05.

Received packet from embassy at my attorney's January 15, 2006

Packet mailed to my husband on January 22, 2006

Packet received by embassy on February 5, 2006.

Embassy called in April and set the interview date for August 23, 2006

Embassy called on 7-25 and asked Faisal to interview on 7-26 (nervous wreck but prepared)

7-26-06 Faisal is approved for K3 Visa

8-24-06, Faisal arrives at O'Hare Airport!!!!!!!

EAD filed in middle of September, 2006 approved in middle of October, 2006 and husband working

at end of October, 2006!

5-2-07- Noa1 on AOS

5-18-07-fingerprinting completed

5-25-07-letter received from USCIS from Missouri asking for proof of income from cosponsor.

LOL! I have the same issue. I'm blessed to have a husband who constantly tells me I'm beautiful no matter what, and one who likes a little flesh on the bones.

I ordered some news clothes from Shukr that arrived yesterday. They're the same size I've ordered in the past, but this time they were too tight. I got in a huge moping depressed mood, and DH very sweetly told me that I looked just fine to him.

But, I need to exercise for my own mental well being. I've never been thin, but I'd like to get back to the only slightly chubbiness I had in high school. Plus, when I was running reguarly, I was less sleepy at work.

Ok, so so far we have three people in our fitness check in:

anyone else? I'll start a new thread tomorrow for check ins. People can make an intro post, setting out goals and any plans they have.

Count me in... I had a somewhat unsavory belly-dancing video experience last week and have been off the exercise wagon ever since! And I DEFINITELY don't want that expensive wedding dress I'm wearing in a month to suddenly be too tight...

I'm in! I quit smoking two years ago and combine that with the visa process I have gained way too much weight and stopped going to the gym.

As of this past Monday, I am on a diet and have been going to the gym every night after work! I want to be to my desired weight by Christmas!

Yaaay, lots of people. Here's kinda how I think it should work (totally stolen from a running forum I used to frequent)

Every week, a member starts a thread with the same basic title (ie ME/NA fitness challenge 4/10-4/16). Members can post their goals for the week, and then when they work out, they can post their results. Other members show support and thread exudes over all general feeling of good will :luv:

So far, we have pledges from:

I'll start a thread for this week (4/3-4/9) and we can get started!

I thought about joining, but that might actually require I get my butt off of this comfortable bed I am sitting on right now...<hehe>

Actually I mentioned going to the gym once to my husband, but he wasn't too hot on the idea. From the time I get home at 6 until bedtime is our time together. Neither one is ready to sacrifice that right now. I guess when he gets here we are going to go together.

Hope you all have fun though! Just really curious about the belly dancing incident though...hehe

I understand that M4Ever. That's how I got a lot of this fat on me. But it was worth it. Abdel and I haven't really had a serious fight since he got here. We know each other so well that all of our bad moments have been because of me being in a bad mood and saying something stupid that hurt him and I regretted 5 seconds after I said it. The time getting to know each other will pay off big time.
