Just interested about everyones perspective. IMO, you don't choose who you fall in love with. Whether the person is rich or poor doesn't matter, it's what's on the inside that counts. There was a survey on tv asking if people would rather marry a rich ugly person, or a poor good looking person that is what gave me the idea for this poll. Most votes were for poor and good looking. So, what do you all think? I know everyone here are already with or going to be with their spouse\future spouse. I'm talking hypothetically speaking here.

Money nor looks matters....happiness matters more to me. Money causes fights! looks can be deceiving! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Its whats inside that counts.

Separated!!

Hard to say since so much of what we count as 'handsome' or 'pretty' means 'can afford expensive grooming.'

 Very true. Love isn't wrapped in green paper or wearing lip gloss...it's pouring from a cup that's over-flowing.

Neither matters.

It's the way of thinking, doing, being, the sense of humor etc.

Humans are like wine. Well, you will get older .. if you take the good looks, they won't last forever. You'll have whatever was in hte mind, the character... if the looks were good, but the character was average, are you going to like it?

If you go with the money, what when it's gone?

It's the character. If someone can't make me laugh, and spend all my time with him and enjoy the time even when we do 'nothing', not worth it.

I don't like the people that are considered 'pretty'. The average model looking guys don't make me feel anything, and I don't think they are particularly beautiful either.

Money? I find it low morale and very materialistic to marry only for money, or to consider someone attractive only because s/he is rich.

If the one you choose can't make you laugh and happy, what's the point??

Well, looks are subjective so it's rather difficult to gage. What kind of money are we talking about? Unfortunately money is a necessary evil. Show me one person that is overjoyed being poor. What matters most to me is being with my soon to be wife and having enough money to pay the bills, save for retirement, and have some left over at the end of the month.

Both actually.

If D wasn't attractive, I'd have never gotten with him. There was an instant attraction, which opened the door to us finding out about each other, which led us til now.

And if he didn't have a good job/ability for stability...then I wouldn't have taken it serious. And we wouldn't have gotten this far.

Nothing wrong with looking for a stable partner to whom you're attracted to!

Funny poll.

In my opinion the heart is what counts the most. But there does have to be some attraction there. Money does not matter at all. As it comes and goes like the wind.

Neither! I'm not that shallow... my husband is neither rich, nor good-looking, but that didn't stop me from wanting to spend the rest of my life with him. It's what's inside that counts, and I'm not talking about the thickness of their hip pocket!
