I'm trying to cut the grass at my house, but my lawnmower won't start. So I borrowed a neighbor's, and his won't start, either! I'm so frustrated! Sigh--maybe I'm supposed to just have a relaxing day:)

It's been raining like crazy here in Minnesota, so the grass (well, mostly weeds) is starting to look like a jungle!

I started back to school two years ago. Sooooo...I'm stuck in front of the computer all day working on homework. ...lol....Even after all these years...I still hate homework!!! Oh well, it'll pay off one of these days.

I am getting devoured by the mosquitoes! What in the world????

How can I keep the buggers off of me?? Or set a trap for them?

There is some kind of trap for gnats with vinegar. Would that work for mosquitoes?

omg i just got two awesome recipes from my sister that we ate today!

1) sauce for marinating steak tips in:

mix equal parts coke (not pepsi!!), Ken's italian dressing and ketchup, put steak tips in ziploc bag, put bag in fridge and marinate for two days. Steak will melt in your mouth when you eat it!!!!

2) green beans with tomatoes:

green beans

1 onion

2 or 3 garlic cloves

olive oil

tomatoes , about 5 or 6

tomato paste, about 2 tbsp

salt and pepper to taste

chopped basil

boil green beans until tender and then drain and plunge in cold water so they don't over cook

heat up onion in olive oil

add chopped garlic to onion

cut tomatoes and get seeds out and chop

add chopped tomatoes and tomato paste to onions and garlic and simmer until it's not so watery

add salt and pepper to taste and combine with green beans and chopped basil

serve at room temp.

those recipes both look really good.

it reminds me of a chicken marinade that was equal parts teriyaki sauce and ginger ale. Delicious! I had forgotten all about it but I think I'll have to make it again. Plus make your steak marinade! There muse be something in the soda that tenderizes..

We just got back from the Lake of the Ozarks this morning. We had a fun time with the family and spent almost the whole day yesterday out on the boat. It was sooooo relaxing. I was really needing a relaxing day away from all the chaos here. Only 4 more days at the job till I start my new job. I'm sooooo excited!!!!

Do you have any Skin So Soft by Avon? That supposedly does the trick. I usually just cover myself with bug spray when I go out. Normally though I just stay in when they come out at that time of night. I can't stand them!!!!

The other night we lost power due to a powerline going down and I went outside at like 10pm for all of 5 minutes to see what all the hubbub was since there were police cars everywhere and when I came back inside I had 7 bites on my feet!!!!

I am pretty sure they have some Avon products here in Egypt. I think I saw some once. Between the bites from the mosquitoes and me slapping my arms to try and kill the little bloodsuckers, my arms look awful!

Anything from the kitchen I could use?

Does anybody know the active ingredients in SSS?
