i got the same recording y'day when i checked, ever since its driving me NUTS! i'm going CRAZZY thinking what it could be. there should be a checklist sent with another cover sheet to correct or providing the missing documents. i'm just wondering what it could be? i'm calling them tom morning to see what it can be, so i can have it ready to send it in as soon as i get the checklist via snail mail.

I've read somewhere in the forum that your AOS is incomplete until they've received the DS-230. You might want to confirmed this with NVC.

the missing or incomplete message you could be getting from the automated message may simply mean that they are not done reviewing your DS230. From your timeline, it seems that's the case here. Give them some time, maybe a week or two. Soon, you'll receive 'CASE COMPLETE'

Some pointers:

Are you a lone sponsor or do you have a joint sponsor.

They may be asking for your joint sponsors income tax

returns.

They only want your federal tax returns for the last year,

including more is at yoru discretion.

If you meet the minimum poverty level, you don't have to

use the assets section and skip directly over it. If you are using

it, they will require a statement showing the value of your assets

minus any owed dept and or liens.

Did you put your case number on top of each page as instructed?

Did you include the cover sheet?

NOTE: The i-864 works independently of the DS-230. The DS-230

is the final packet for the NVC Phase. Once your I-864 is approved,

the only thing you need to wait on is your DS-230. Once your

I-864 and DS-230 is approved your case is complete and forwarded

to your respective embassy.

Hope this helps.

Oh, and as to yoru question, no you do not hace to re-file an I-864. All you need to do is provide the missing information so that they can finish and approve your I-864. The DS-230 is on it's own "track" and has no bearing whatsoever on your I-864.

Flowchart

NVC Gets case from USCIS--->NVC Assigns case number--->

AOS Fee and DS-3032 generated & mailed

I-864

File AOS Fee--->NVC Enters AOS Fee--->I-864 packet generated--->

I-864 mailed--->file I-864 packet--->NVC Enters I-864 Packet--->

If more evidence is required, the NVC will send you a checklist specifying the

missing items NVC requires before they complete your I-864. Once

all the items are NVC's hand, and they deem the I-864 to be sufficient,

they will approve it.

DS-3032 and DS-230

File DS-3032--->NVC Enters DS-3032--->DS-230 Fee generated--->

File DS-230 Fee--->NVC Enters DS-230 Fee--->DS-230 packet generated--->

I got the same message last night and this is the second time we have had to do a revision of our I-864 packet. It's so devastating to get these setbacks! Last time they sent us the checklist that asked for the W2 (or P60 in my case as living in the UK for the past two years). They were also confused about extra info I had sent....I'm learning to do the basics and no more.

Apparently what we sent back wasn't what they wanted because now they have sent out another checklist. Each of these delays the process by at least a week if not more. I'm gonna be calling them later as well to speak to an operator about it and find out more details. At least we are all in this together!

Well, my case has a happy ending. No problem with the AOS pacakge. It seems like, once your AOS package is approved and NVC system doe not show the rec. of DS-230, it creates this STUIPD message.
