ASKING THE EXPERTS IS THE BEST....

Hi everyone. We have our interview Sept. 6 in Casa (I know, I know....) Anyway, I would like to ask if we have filled out the correct forms, as I know there has been some discussion before about some forms being obsolete, yet they still send them. Here is what we have filled out so far, plus Hamid has a question.

1. For DS-230 Part I and Part II (dated 07-2004)--4 pages filled out in English on the computer, then printed.

2. Form DS-157--1 page (dated 01-2004)--Written in French, filled out by hand in English by Hamid cuz we can't find a French download that will let us type in the anwers. Then we will copy it on the computer to have a copy for us.

3. Form DS-156K--1 page (dated 03-2006) and says "PREVIOUS EDITIONS OBSOLETE!" Filled out on the computer in English and then printed.

4. Form DS-156--2 pages (dated 09-2004) which also says "PREVIOUS EDITIONS OBSOLETE"--Filled out in English on the computer and then printed.

5. DS-157--1 page (dated 07-2002)--Filled out in English on computer, then printed. This is the SAME form as number 2 above, one in French, one in English. We are filling out both of them.

ALSO, IT SAYS AN ORIGINAL OF MY BIRTH CERTIFICATE. He has a copy in his notebook of mine, but the original is with the papers sent from NVC. However, I am sending him another original, but you know how the mail is in Morocco...geeze...

Are there any forms missing? Are there any more that we should have? I seem to remember somebody saying that Casa once asked for an obsolete form.

We are going nuts with this, but we are only less than 2 weeks away from the interview.

And, for others' info, the physical was well over $200.00 and the doc would NOT give Hamid a copy of the results. Said he had never had to do that before. So Hamid will call in a few days and make sure the results are there. He DID find a translator in Marrakech, if anybody needs the man's address, around 100dh a page.

I can't tell you how important all of you are to us in this process. WE COULD NOT DO THIS ALONE AND WITHOUT THE HELP OF THE VJ'ERS. THANKS FOR ANY AND ALL HELP!!!! Debbie and Hamid

DS -230 , you only have to fill part I

Ds-157 we only filled the English version, I never knew they had a French one. And the email I got from the consulate didn't ask for a French version of it, but they may have changed.

I never sent an original of my birth certificate to anyone, not the initial filing nor the consulate nor even the AOS interview...

My understanding is that its asked for to verify citizenship of the petitioner and I used copies of my passport for that.

Debbie did he manage to get a copy of the immunization sheet from the doctor? I dont think they will give the entire medical results out but he is going to need a copy of his shots here when he files for AOS or he may get an RFE (we did and my husband had to get some of those immunizations AGAIN)

But tell them I will be moving to the US and need a copy of immunizations to complete the immigration process in the US, as i will not have access to the copy you forwarded to the consulate. I know she gives them - youssef has his!

Thanks for the info!! I am going to tell him when I talk to him to tell that dang doctor he has to have the immunization sheet. He said the doctor refused to give him any copies--said he sends them to the consulate. I will tell Hamid to ask again. This was a French male doctor from the list.

It would be sooo nice if he could come back with me mid-October when I come home. But, realistically, I know that won't happen. It is soooo sad and depressing. Both my senators and my congressman are sending letters to the consulate before his interview--hope this will help, but they say they have no power over them. We will see.

My husband never got his immunization sheet while he was in Morocco...

He DID get it once he was here (a few weeks before the AOS interview) but it was a big hassle. He had to call the doctor's office, who was happy to do it (it was the only woman doctor on the list--I think she was french-speaking?), he had his cousin in Casa pick it up--his cousin somehow got it to Simo's brother in Marrakech, and his brother FAXed it to my work.

As it turns out, they never looked at ANY of our paperwork at the AOS interview (just looked at 3 photo albums) but we were prepared!!

Don't worry--it won't be the end of the world if he doesn't get the immunization sheet. Maybe he could call them and try to pick it up AFTER the interview?

Deep breaths--you will get through this!

Have hom call the doctor and ask for a copy of Vaccination Documentation Worksheet for use with DS 2053. If the doctor stills gives him trouble, point out that it says right on the form "Give a copy to the Applicant"

Not having this form is not the biggest problem, but it will cost you losts of money to resolve it when filing for AOS.

Maybe I am misreading yor stories, but USCIS does not want the panel physician copy of the vaccination sheet in order to adjust status. USCIS wants the 1-693A USCIS medical supplement form. The only reason the foreign beneficiary needs the vaccination records (the DOS form) is so that he/she can use it for the medical records in obtaining the I-163a and not have to get vaccines all over or pay for blood test to show the vaccines have been received.

If the beneficiary has all the vaccinations recorded with his/her regular doctor, that record would work just as well as the panel physician worksheet obtained for the interview.

Ooh, I forgot about that! I think you're right MBP, but I don't think they actually ask for that I-693A very often (though of course you never know what they'll ask for at the AOS interview--we took our chances and just brought the vaccination sheet).

"His or her regular doctor"--ha! My husband almost never went to any doctor in Morocco! When he broke his arm playing soccer at age 15 or so, he had some uneducated Berber medicine man/veterinarian set his bone--the man was famous in the area for setting bones on sheep! He did a fabulous job...his secret? Put lots of olive oil on the arm before setting the bone (olive oil--the cure for practically everything in Berber medicine!).

I know I had to chuckle myself when i was typing it. But I suppose there are those that are up to date on things like immunizations and have records even in a place like morocco. I think Idir went to the doctor once in his whole life.
