Well it's been a while since I went to the USCIS website. My I-485 is of course still not online, I'm hoping it's not catching dust.

The good news is that the Charlotte office doesn't say the processing dates are 6 months anymore (which to me doesn't mean much), no as of the date of Dec 14th they were processing the June 03rd applications.

So it makes me hope to get some news next month maybe... If not well then we'll try infopass.

Happy New Year everyone.

On a personal note I crashed my car against a guardrail... There was snow and the car went sliding. Not hurt besides my ego but the car is going to coast, my husband took away the collision part of the insurance when we got the other new car since the one I drive isn't worth much. :( and my second job just ended so I need to find an other one quick to pay for it all. I wasn't planning to start the year that way. Just wish I had stayed home like my co-worker offered me to... Oh well...

I'm glad I have an EAD and that I can take just about any job.

Dang Cecy, sorry to hear about the car. That's a nightmare. :[

7 days to our interview. Barf bags handy every day so I can throw up every time I think about going!

Yikes Cecy! :o Material things can be replaced, glad to hear you are ok.

Brad, the interview is not that bad. Our IO was trying to crack jokes to make us loosen up. Try to be yourself and it will go smoothly.

Good luck!

Seems like she has one sided coverage, so no deductible applies, she's stuck with the whole bill. :(

Yea I realize that. I was just saying if she did have it, it would have been $500 to fix it. So depending on the damage it might even out. Not sure how serious the damage is.

Yes if we had kept the insurance we would have only had 500$ to pay, but we don't so it's going to be about 2000$ :bonk: Well if we don't have any other collisions with it in the next 4 or 5 years it'll even up with not paying the insurance.

I'm trying not to think about it too much. I mean we're together; we're happy, it's just a car. We'll just have to be on a tighter budget and deal with more credit than we planned...

That is because USCIS NSC only does the first part of the processing. Your file is then sent either to the CSC in which case it's hard to give a timeline or and in most cases to your local office. So on the USCIS website go to https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/ptimes.jsp

then select your "field office" and you'll see the processing time you should expect.

You can also take a look at VJ's timelines for your local office (and that one also includes the cases forwarded to CSC).

For those approved in July we update a timeline in this thread , those who have a YES under the approved column are those who are.

I want USCIS to update the dates on the processing section... grrr. Charlotte, NC's office is still at the December 14th update. I want to know how fast its processing.

It just seems that the giving out of interviews slowed down a lot lately for the July filers. Or is it just my imagination?

It's been 180 days since our application is at USCIS today. Come on people... give us a date for an interview, even if it is in two month!
