Has anyone had any issues with delivery of their greencard or SS card if the name is not on their mail box?

I have often read here that the green card is not delivered due to lack of name on the mailbox. I would recommend putting the name on the mailbox immediately!

We cannot put names on our mailbox so hopefully that isn't true for us. :unsure: DH's SS card did get put into someone elses mailbox here (apartments) but I think it was the mailman being lazy. Thankfully the girls who's mailbox it was put into, delivered to us in person.

Our interview is tomorrow at 12:30!! Wish us luck as we'll be driving 45 minutes there and back and we'll have our almost 1 month old daughter along for the day!

You can however notify your mail carrier or local post office that your spouse is now residing at that address.

Maybe you can let them know at the interview that there are no names on the mailbox, and you understand that the gc may not be delivered because of that, and what can you do to ensure it gets delivered...? Honestly, I would not take the chance.

We didn't put our name on the outside because we're renting, but as an alternative, I taped a piece of paper with both our names on the inside, it seems to work well so far. The mailman can see it when he opens the mailbox after all.

Mirasol got her Green Card in the mail yesterday, 11/5/07....Woooowhoooo!!! We are both very happy and relieved it's over for another two years.

Congrats to all others that have been approved and good luck to those with interviews still pending. Take care and thank you to all that helped us along the way.

We were "approved pending FBI namecheck"! Interview went very well and was really short. She said DH's FBI namecheck hadn't cleared yet and as soon as it does, she will be approving us! I am SO glad to be done with this and can only hope his namecheck clears really soon. :whistle:

As far as the whole mailbox stuff, our mailman has delivered plenty of mail in DH's name so he knows he gets mail here. Maybe DH's sscard got slipped into someone else pile by accident...I just hope his green card gets delivered safely.

We have our case updated the next day of the interview and we got our welcome mail yesterday!!We are hoping that the famous and sweet GC coming next soon!! :dance:
