I just got my interview notice. 11/15/07... Very unhappy about it. I just got my EAD last week and may have to wait another month for a social. So there's a few things I won't have for the interview, #1 is joint bank statements and maybe not a job since I'm still waiting on the social. Should I be worried?

What annoys me is that some people get transfered to CSC and some dont, regardless of how busy their local office is! I dont even know whats up with my application. The typical time on VJ that people have their interview is around 70 days in Tucson, well - I've been waiting over 80 and havent even received an interview date. Someone who sent in their AOS 1 month before me has got their interview this month, and they received an RFE and took a month to send it back so I dont understand why mine is taking so long to just issue a date. I spoke to someone who said I'm just waiting on a date as Tucson is really busy at the moment - so why dont they transfer me to CSC? I just dont understand!!!

We just need to hang in there. I know how you feel. My wife and I are ready for this green card so we can make travel plans (we decided to avoid AP). Best of luck to you guys, maybe we'll get the email/letter tomorrow! :)

I didn't get a lot of detail from him, but my lawyer did tell me that my wife DID NOT have to have a SSN before she started working. Just the EAD. The employer can still withhold taxes and stuff without the SSN.

If you have your EAD you can apply for your SSN, it will probably take under 2 weeks to get the card thru the post.

Like you Nyte, my husband is still waiting for his interview date. We're from the DC area though, which is notoriously overloaded, I guess. Sigh. It's just frustrating to see other July filers get interview dates left and right, it worries me that there may be something wrong with our case and we just don't know. We haven't received any touches since the EAD was ordered, and we haven't moved or changed addresses, so I guess we're just waiting... and waiting... and waiting.

If you look at http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/aosstats.php?cfl= you will see that your average wait time is 230 days.

My I-130 hasn't been touched since it was submitted. My I-485 was last touched after the biometrics. There was no touch when the interview letter was sent.

Yeah, this is really aggravating, but there's little we can do. We need to just hang in there, hope for a transfer to CSC and an approval without an interview, or just wait wait wait. The New Orleans office (my local office) has an average turnaround time on VJ of over 400 days, but then again there were only like four reviews, so i'm hoping it won't be this bad (but i'm sure they're still inundated from Hurricane Katrina backlogs....Katrina seems to be the excuse for everything down here these days lol  )

Hoping speedy approvals to all those still waiting!!

Thanks igomo and Nyte. I didn't mean to sound uptight, I just have that fear in the back of my head. I'm more than happy for everyone who has had their interviews and transfers, I hope to catch up to you guys! :) And also hopefully, like igomo, the interview letter will just appear one day soon. Now THAT would make an excellent early Christmas gift haha. Best of luck to everyone still waiting!
