Need help. I did my AOS paperwork received my NOA1 and appointment for Bio is this friday. I received another letter yesterday saying I forgot the paperwork for I-864 avidavit of support. I did all the paperwork and included my tax return papers but did not send copies of my W-2's forms. And it says I have 60 days to get this information in are my case will be denied. Well I'm sending this information to them tomorrow. Any Idea if this will have a delay affect on my case and how much longer the delay if any might be? Thanks Dynamo Dean

I have a job interview next week! I dropped my employment application yesterday and they called me back today to schedule an interview. I was so surprised I mixed up my words on the phone

This is very exciting because it's a good company and I really need to get a second job (one part time is not enough if we have to buy a second car). I can't believe they called me so fast. Next wednesday I'll meet the woman in charge of staffing there. Wow... Keep me in your thoughts.

And I should have the EAD card in my hands by then (hopefully).

silivake I'm really happy to hear you'll be together for it. That's really great news.

Congrats on the EAD and interview dates.

Dynamo-Dean I haven't had a RFE so far (knocks on wood), but as far as I heard as soon as they receive the requested documents they resume your case processing, so I don't think they'll put you on hold too long, especially if you answered fast.

Maybe someone else has a hands on experiences on it though.

Received EAD card in the mail today 10/03/2007... I'm excited!!

When can i apply for SSN?

I think you can right away. All you need is a picture ID, marriage license and EAD if I'm right.

It's not like when you arrive on a K1. You are in the USCIS database and all that now, so you don't have to worry about waiting for a while.

When I applied for my SSN, it was a Friday. The lady told me that I could go into the office in person, the following Monday and they would give me a letter with the number stated on it. I would check with your office when you apply.

She did state however that they would not give out the number over the phone, so I just waited for the card.

It seems there is so much variation, who knows what they will say, but good luck anyhows!!!!

I'm not really sure in that case. Usually the social security says they can't put your married name if the USCIS has you under your maiden name...

Did you apply to the AOS with your married or maiden name?

If you applied with your maiden name I think you should bring the papers you receive from USCIS along with your EAD to show that they have you under it. Good luck.
