I got an email today with an approval for EAD. Only took 70 days! So i'm happy. Does anyone know how long it takes to have the actual card in hand,from the time they send the approval letter?And after i receive that,i need to take it in to get my SSN..any idea how long that takes? Just wondering when it's safe to start applying for work.

11/22/06- entered US as a visitor from Canada

05/04/07 -married

06/28/07- AOS/EAD/AP- mailed

06/29/07- package received

07/09/07- checks cashed

07/10/07- NOA1 for I-130

07/12/07- NOA1 for AOS,EAD

07/12/07- biometrics letter received

07/13/07 -rfe payment for I-131 ,wrong amount

07/14/07- touched-485 &130

07/17/07- rfe sent for I-131

07/21/07- rfe for W2s/tax info..guess they lost it

07/31/07- biometrics appt

08/01/07- EAD touched

08/07/07- rfe sent for 485

08/10/07- rfe received,485 processing resumed

08/22/07- receive letter for interview 11/20/07

08/25/07- AP approved and received

09/07/07- EAD card received

10/17/07- received SSN (took about a week after applying)

11/20/07- Interview- more evidence requested

12/14/07- Evidence submitted.....waiting...

HOWDY,

I´ve never been happier. We got an interview date for October 24, 2007. WHOOP!!! What´s funny though, is that we got an email regarding card production for EAD on September 5, 2007, but no notice in the mail to show for it. Yet, we received NOA for our interview today with a notice date of the 31st of August and no email or update on uscis website. Whatever the reason may be, I´m just ecstatic we have an interview around the corner.

We just got back from Vacation and I received a notice today that our AOS case was forwarded to California Service Center. Is this typically a good thing?

Any idea what to expect from this point?

7/27/2004- Met in Bogota

8/27/06-Engaged!

11/27/06-Applied for I-129f at VSC

12/04/06-NOA1

12/21/06-NOA2

12/29/06-NVC Receives Case

1/10/07-Package 3 Received

1/16/07-Embassy Receives our Pkg 3 details in Bogota

1/26/07-Interview date set for 2/28/07!

2/1/07-And the Pkg 4 arrives with appointment letter! (we didn't call anyone or even follow up)

2/28/07-K1 VISA APPROVED!

3/1/07-Picked up visa at embassy

4/12/07-Arrived at JFK Airport

4/17/07 Picked up Marriage license

4/19/07-Married at City Hall

7/5/07 -Sent in AOS packet I-485

7/6/07-Received in chicago

7/18/07- I-485 Check Cashed! I've never been so happy to have someone take money from me

7/23/07- came home to NOA. biometrics appointment is on August 7th!

8/7/07- Went to Biometrics, in and out in 10 minutes, no wait...Online Case status reflects update

9/7/07 - Online notice that case has been forwarded to the California Service Center for processing!!!

10/10/07- Email from USCIS..Card Production ordered!

10/12/07 -Welcome to the USA email

10/16/07 - NOA arrives in mail that welcome letter is on it's way

10/17/07 - Miraculously a Green Card arrives in the mail (A Beautiful Sight)

A very good thing! People transferred to CSC typically get approved without an interview. :D Hubby and I live in New York and also got transferred to CSC. I wonder if that might be common for New Yorkers?

I wonder since we got an interview date, if that means that they aren't going to do anything with our case prior to then? We need that EAD & AP!!!

I ask this since I see that some people are getting the EAD & AP, and then later getting the interview notice dates.

I ask this since I see that some people are getting the EAD & AP, and then later getting the interview notice dates.

From what I've heard: the EAD & AOS are not processed together, they go to separate agents or something like that. Which means that you can get your EAD approved no matter if you have an interview date already or not.

If you are past the 90 days since your application was received at USCIS (or since NOA, depending which way you want to calculate it) make an infopass appointment to inquire about your case.
