I overnighted the RFE letter back, along with the filled out Part 7 of the I-864. I also included a letter stating my confusion for the RFE, indicating my yearly salary, and enclosing an employment/salary verification from my employer. They should have it by noon 7/31. We called USCIS this morning to find out why we received the RFE, and the agent on the line couldn't tell us anything. He just said if we got the request, we had to fill it out..... so, they will have it tomorrow, along with a little extra. Hopefully we will have smooth sailing from here.

Glad you got the info sent off, hopefully that will be the last of the RFE's for you

Thanks Sonshyne!

Congrats on your progress as well. I hope you don't have to go the RFE route..... here's hoping everyone has a smooth approval! No more drama! We've had enough of that

Overnighting info. they already have is not cheap!

We overnighted our RFE (W2) yesterday. I wish they would send all RFEs at once, so I'd know that this was the last one...

Okay....I am sure there is a logical explanation for this and hope I am just being over cautious, but here goes:

I have noticed that some people show in their timelines they sent a Form I-130 along with there adjustment application, Form I-485. We are a K-1 visa couple that got married in the USA and are now filing for AOS. Was I supposed to file an I-130 with my AOS application? Geeez, I hope not because I certainly missed that instruction if I was supposed to do that. Someone please get me out of panic mode and tell me I did it right. Why are some people filing the I-130 with their AOS applications?

Thanks for the :help:

The concurrent I 130/I 485 filing is for people who are adjusting from a tourist visa (or VWP, student, work visas, etc), not a K visa type.

HOWDY!

Well we had our biometrics appointment today. My husband and I arrived half an hour early and waited until 8:00am for them to open the doors. Everything went really smooth. We were in and out of the office within half an hour. They make you fill out some information on a form and ask for your passport w/ visa and another form of identification. They took my husband's picture and fingerprints. Phew! Atleast we're done with that

On another note, for all those who are constantly checking to see if their application has already been posted online with USCIS; it seems they release the application to online status after attending your biometrics appointment. I'm thinking that the appointment gives the application a sort of go ahead and it's released for our viewing pleasure. Just like the rest of you, I too have been checking diligently every day to see if there are any changes or updates online, but I kept receiving that same nasty message; application not found blah, blah, blah... , but today when I signed in to check, poof what to my wondering eyes should appear, low and behold that status of our applications (I-485 and I-765).

Hope this alleviates some of your worries. Good luck to all!!! :innocent:

We had our biometrics appointment yesterday as well. I am going to make a detailed thread about it in case there are some people from the DC area that are interested in how USCIS operates in such a busy immigration area. But I just wanted to mention that I think being able to check the case online is a random phenomenon. We were able to check our case online from the very day we received my husband's NOA1, yet some people whom have had the NOA1 for a long time still can't check online. All I can think is that there is a service center or two that aren't keeping up with entering data for online cases, OR there are quite a few USCIS officers that are lapsing in their job duties and not entering online info in a timely manner.

Well geez, I was editing my last post and when I clicked "add reply", I was told I didn't have editing authorization! But I was able to edit this one. Weird.

I'm with you Isis, I hope the waiting goes by fast! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a CSC transfer, but I'm pretty much already prepared for an interview. I'm armed and ready with the following: lease in both our names, joint credit card account, proof of spouse on my insurance and beneficiary of my life insurance, various cards and letters from friends and family addressed to both of us, pictures from a big Christmas party and our wedding, ongoing magazine subscription in his name with our address, his own set of house keys (his key has the Canadian flag on it lol), receipts from our payment for any doctor visits before he was added to my insurance, and more. Whew, I hope that is more than enough for any interview officer!

I though you needed the EAD or Green Card for that... Let me know how much of an extension they give you. I'm curious.

:( mine isn't online yet. I guess it really shows that there is no rule when it comes to that. It's probably up to whoever works on your case and whether they feel like typing the news on the website or not.

I agree its random as to when it appears online. I got my NOA1 on the 30th and checked it online immediately, but it wasn't there. I checked again on the 31st and both EAD and AOS were showing up. Others are going to Biometrics and it's still not there, so its a case by case basis and not sure what is the determinate factor.

Thanks for the reasssurance also on the I-130 question. This business of immigration is so tricky sometimes I am always afraid of the something that I missed or forgot. I feel at ease again.....for a little while anyway.

Well we're off to see if my sweetheart can put in an application for employment with the new Target store that is opening in October here in our city. She doesn't have her EAD yet, but we're gonna see if they will at least accept an application pending receipt of her EAD within 90 days. If her EAD is not here after 90 days we'll go to the local office and get a temporary like it says to do, so we're hoping they will let her apply now.

Talk to you all later!
