We are July filers mailed on July 19th and recieved on 23rd but no NOA yet. We are hopeful for early this week.

Here starts the next part of this journey! :hehe:

It takes about a week from the time your package was receive to the time a NOA is issued (take a look at the timeline), and then you have to wait for the mail to get there. So give it a good 2 weeks from the received date.

Biometrics is an appointment with the local USCIS office to take pictures and finger print.

As for everyone else, SirLancelot & MsA mentioned it before. Any application sent after July 25th is likely to have an August date for the NOA. It takes about a week from the date the package was received in Chicago to the NOA, and it's likely to take even longer with the expected increase of application from everyone who tried to avoid the fee increase. So you're likely to belong to the August filer thread.

Well I am not in a panic because there is nothing I can do if they ask for it except to provide the information. I just get irritated at stupid ####### like that.....something I did not include because it was allegedly optional. I suppose SirLance is correct in that each case is different, so we'll just have to see. It's just stupid that optional is not really optional and it created an unnecessary delay for at least one of us in a system that is already too lengthy and cumbersome.

Most sponsors use income alone and do not include assets if they don't have to. So it really is optional. There is no "buts" about this being optional. For whatever reason, USCIS wants more financial info from LovinJA, but this is not going to be a general requirement for the rest of us. All of us certainly will NOT be getting RFEs because we didn't include assets on our I-864. Good luck to LovinJA with resolving their RFE.

I overnighted the RFE letter back, along with the filled out Part 7 of the I-864. I also included a letter stating my confusion for the RFE, indicating my yearly salary,and enclosing an employment/salary verification from my employer. They should have it by noon 7/31. We called USCIS this morning to find out why we received the RFE, and the agent on the line couldn't tell us anything. He just said if we got the request, we had to fill it out..... so, they will have it tomorrow, along with a little extra. Hopefully we will have smooth sailing from here. :thumbs:

Glad to hear that you got through to them today and sent everything off. It almost sounds like we're dealing with the JA embassy again, yikes!!! Anyway we received both NOA's in the mail today, for EAD and AOS as well as our biometrics appointment. I will talk to you soon. Just remember; he's here and you will get through this together.

Permanent Resident card received 11/05/07 (dated 10/31/07)! THank u LorD!

Removal of Conditions:
