We need to bring the marriage certificate to the biometrics appointment? It doesn't say to do that on the letter...!!

I'm willing to wager that MsA used her new married name to apply for the I-485. And as her name on the passport is different, they wanted to see proof of her name change--a marriage cert would suffice. So that's why they wanted to see the marriage cert. If your wife didn't change her name, I don't think it's needed. But if she did change her name, she should bring it along.

MsA, did you apply with your new married name? Glad things worked out.

Luz filed for AOS under her married name and her passport had her madien name. She didn't have her marriage certificate with her and there were no problems with her Biometrics at all. It is assumend that you will get married when entering on a K-1 and most women change their last names after marriage. The guy that checked you in had it wrong.

i figured that i really didnt need it since they had both of my names in their files ... after all i guess he didnt get "beeped" last night and had to let it out on me :devil: well i even offered to show my bank card with married name AND security photo ... not enough!!! guess he was just a jerk ... different ASC different rules ... hahahahaa well at least i got my first touch on my EAD but why not on AOS since bio was for both ...hhhmmmm i guess i will never understand "them" :blush: oh yeah and i filed in married name since i filed after marriage!

well at least i got my first touch on my EAD but why not on AOS since bio was for both ...hhhmmmm i guess i will never understand "them"

That seems to be normal... after my hubby's biometrics his EAD got touched but his AOS didn't. *shrug*

We had our biometrics appointment today. It was scheduled for 12:00 p.m. (for EAD - the AOS was scheduled for 8/8). We got there at 11:20 a.m. and walked out the door at 11:30. We were home at 11:59 a.m.

GOOD NEWS! They took him for BOTH biometrics appointments, so we don't have to go back on the 8th! So all of our biometrics are complete!

So, I guess you can change my biometrics date to 7/27! Hooray!
