i was wondering if we should/could add how many days it took from the day we sent it to our interview (i saw it in

the "may filers" i believe) what you guys think?

I think it's a good idea. It's makes an easy visual to see how fast (or slowly) things go.

From which date should it be started though? The date the mail is received in Chicago or the NOA date?

i think the NOA1 date makes more sense since it is the date USCIS first touches the AOS

Well the return address states Lee's Summit, MO - zip 64064. However, I searched the zipcode from the postmark and it's Chicago, IL - zip 60605. Postmark is July 12th (same as NOA date) in case that helps anyone out.

I also just noticed they didn't cash the money orders until the day AFTER they mailed the NOA1 out.

Hi July Filers.

We sent our AOS in on July2, it was received on July 3. We received our NOA1 July 16th, with a Notice date of July 11. I have read the thread, and it looks like our timing is in trend so far. And by the way, I can't pull our case up online yet either. I actually called USCIS, and after waiting about 10 Min. the supervisor told me it was a valid case number, but he could only give my husband the status....

So, waiting for the Biometrics appt. letter now.... Just out of curiosity, I am wondering what center others AOS is being processed out of. Our receipt number starts with MSC, which after looking on the USCIS website seems to be the National Benefits Center in Missouri. I thought that was kind of strange. And when I looked at their processing times, they don't even have the I 485 as one of the forms they process.... So, my husband will be calling tomorrow to find out the status. Has anyone else looked at where their application is being processed?

No worries, MSC is normal. They do the initial processing and send you the biometrics notice. Then it could go one of two ways... It could be transferred to your local office and then you'd have an interview... Or it could be transferred to CSC (California Service Center) which would mean you'd most likely be approved without an interview.

It could be transferred to your local office and then you'd have an interview... Or it could be transferred to CSC (California Service Center) which would mean you'd most likely be approved without an interview.

Do you know if there are any trends to identify when an application would be sent to CSC vs. Local Office? I am hoping for CSC!

From what I've read, nope, we haven't seen a trend yet. There's a post for CSC transferees, maybe that can be used to see if there's any sort of trend amongst them. Hubby and I also have our fingers crossed for a CSC transfer... I think all of us do!

All 3 of my checks were cashed yesterday 7/18. Yea! The check images aren't available via my bank website yet. But I guess it doesn't really matter since most people can't access their case online anyway.

I know its not a "timeline reportable event", lol. But I'm really excited to know (1) they have started to work with our application (2) It looks like our case didn't see a slow down with the increase in filers, and (3) we beat the fee change! The thought crossed my mind, that if there was a slow down, and they started processing it after July 30, that they would return it to me with a request for the correct fee. Nothing to worry about now!
