Green card arrived February 4. Shows Taiwan instead of People's Republic of China. 11 days after interview.

I called the 800 number today to see if *maybe* there was any news on the FBI name check. She said she was showing nothing as of yet. She said our local office is processing applications dated July 19th and ours was dated July 12th. So she said to call back in 30 days if we hadn't heard anything (but she says she thinks we will ??) and she will submit something to see what's going on with the name check. Should I put any faith into anything good coming out of what she said? lol

Yet an other fruitless call to USCIS. Hey this time they didn't tell me I had to wait so many days to call back... Maybe I should harass them every day

My case is still under review at the NCS. No RFE or anything needed it seems. I tried to obtain information about the FBI name check and I was told again that they can't tell us that while it under review and yada yada yada. He said he would make an inquiry at the IO to do it and give me an update on my case. No idea how they plan to contact me or if they even will do it.

Oh and the guy told me they received my case on July 15th (a Sunday lol) so I was right to do my reverse countdown from the Monday it was officially at the Chicago LockBox I guess. 202 days in counting. Patience, Patience, Patience.

At least I'm lucky my case is not visible online so I can actually talk to a USCIS IO and not the misinformation line people who can't tell you more than the USCIS website does.

Lots of updates in the list because I went back to check on everyone who had not been approved yet and didn't give any updates. A lot of them ended up being approved. Some details of what's going on for all those waiting at the end.

Also, I'm thinking of moving all the people who haven't been on visajourney since the end of October to then end of the list in an unactive color. What do you think?

I see your list is based on when the application was sent. By that criteria, we're July filers. I think we fit better in July - before the fee change than August - after the fee change.

Well ok, it's only like a month behind yours, but still...

And yes I know some people have been waiting for two years, but it's because of FBI name check and not scheduled interviews so I allow myself to whine.

I had the IO say something of the same sort and that they would get back to me. That was 2 weeks ago. I don't trust them.

I only truely belive something from them when I see it written on paper.

But you should definitely call in 30 days (or even less) to see if there is an update. You'll end up talking to a different IO anyway, so it can't hurt. If only to feel like we are doing something

Oh and TomYu , when the list was started it was based on filing before July 25th, because filing after often meant an August NOA. If you'd like to join this list I'd be glad to add you though.

I apply for the adj of status on 7-27 got my interview on 12-23 where I was recommended for approval .

This morning I got an email welcoming me as a new immigrant.

pat001 I think we are all quite patient on the subject. Complaining helps sometimes, just because there is nothing we can do but wait. The lenght is takes depends both on your personal case and the local office you belong too, so it is hard to compare with other. Hey, I've seen people who applied in January and already have an interview scheduled. We know it will end someday. Thanks for letting us know there are updates here and there though.

w/c processing times do we estimate it using USCIS (currently jul.19, 2007) or visa dates (jan. 2008)?

Our card production was ordered 2/14. All it took was switching from August to July filers! ;-) If I'd know that, I would have switched months ago! :-)

Visa dates? I'm not sure what you mean by visa date.

The processing times vary by local office. You can go there to check out yours: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/ptimes.jsp?

Some cases are transfered to CSC, in which case there usually are no interviews and therefore no data to tell you what they are processing. On average cases forwarede to CSC are processed quicker than the local offices.

Local offices make you come for an interview and on the link I gave you, you can find who they are processing right now.

FINALLY!!!! APPROVED TODAY FOR GREENCARD!!!!

PLEASE MARKED ME APPROVED ON THE JULY FILERS LIST!

Hi VJers! Today was my day!

Very nice Lady interviewed us asked the typical questions.

A lot of things I prepared for and was not asked to show.

we did the oath, and then asked us to sit down.

She asked for the typical documentation, typical evidence of dual names on receipts

She asked for 3 wedding pictures, confirmed my name, address, parents names.

she asked how we met, when we got engaged, asked my husband the date we got married

and the name of the wedding chapel. How I announced to my family since we eloped,

and how they took it...LOL

at this time...she verbally said she would approve me!!!

and mentioned I was the only one who was going to be approved today....WHEW!!!!

she then took my EAD card and removed the I-94 receipt from my expired passport

and then stamped my new passport with the I-551 stamp YIPPEEEE!!!!!

WOW! this process has been a long 18 months from start to finish!

I am so glad I found this forum. I am very thankfull for all the help I have received

along the way. I couldn't have done it without all of you and this forum!

My INFOPASS last Feb 15 was just fine. The lady said to wait, everything looks fine and it will take 6 more months to process since they are only processing Dec. of 2006 applicants. :

She said, if I didnt get my GC on June renew my EAD!!!! Wait! Wait! Wait!

Washington DC office please hurry up
