Congrats pat001 and pushbrk

As for us, it doesn't look like the interview will be anytime soon.

As of Decemer 14th, the Charlotte Office was processing June 3rd application, one month later they are at the June 11th. :clock:

Our NOA is dated July 24th...

I think it's a good thing we are not planning the big family wedding in my home country.

When you look at the processing dates do you go by the Notice date on your NOA or the date it was received?

My local office is processing dates of July 19th. Mine was received on July 31st but the NOA has a Notice date of August 31st, so i'm not sure which date to go by.

I decided to go by the NOA date in my case (since it wasn't delayed like some cases like yours). They received it in Chicago on the 16th though.

If you received a biometrics appointment letter before the NOA I would use the date from that (date they printed the Biometrics appointment letter) I think it would make more sense than a delayed NOA date.

Hello everyone,

Well it's probably been about a month or so since I last updated here, but still no word on an interview, transer, or anything whatsoever, despite our NOA1 being July 6th. Many July filers have already received their green cards. The last time my husband called to check on the status of his application (probably about a month ago?), the hotline representative told him that the DC office was currently processing March 2007 applications. When my husband called yesterday to ask again, a different hotline representative told him to check his status online. He explained that he faithfully does, but nothing has changed since he got his EAD in September 2007. She then replied that the DC office was very busy and currently processing applications from December 2006, and that his case may not be even looked at for another 6 to 12 months. :o

So who knows which rep was right, who knows where his case is, who knows when we'll hear anything. They won't even tell us if there have been any RFEs that never made it to us or anything like that. It's really frustrating. :crying:

I wonder if there is any way to get someones case tranferred to another office? I guess it isnt a big deal as long as you EAD and AP and it doesnt expire before you get the greencard. The waiting sucks but with USCIS it is always a waiting game, some longer than others.

If there IS a way to get someone's case transferred, I'd love to know, haha! He does have his EAD, but it expires in September, and if the second rep was right about not getting to his case for another 6-12 months, then we'll have to spend the money on renewing it. As for AP, we didn't even apply for that because we've heard its a huge gamble. We filed in July 07 because we knew his grandparents' 60-th anniversary will be in Nov 08... I never imagined that we might still be waiting in Nov, especially if there is nothing wrong with our case and no RFEs. I knew it would be a wait... but I didn't expect forever and a day. It's a struggle to live life in limbo. We've been needing to move since Aug 07, he's been wanting to get a better job for a few months now, he needs a license so he can get a car, and he needs a car to get a better job further from home, etc. We're in VA and the DMV told us no license without a green card, not even with an EAD or NOA1. But they also told us that he should have gotten a VA license within 6 months of moving to the state. Well, how can he get a license within 6 months but without receiving his green card yet? What a catch-22.

I guess all we can do is keep our fingers crossed and call the hotline every month. The first rep had told him we don't need an infopass appointment, but if there are no changes by April, I think I'll make one regardless... unless you guys think making an appointment sooner will get things moving on our case?

Interview was a decent experience and rather quick and painless. We had a heart stopping moment when hubby was asked my middle name and he couldn't remember! She came back to it a minute later and he still was too nervous to remember something so simple. Then in the middle of another question, he remembers and blurts it out! LMAO These were the questions asked of us:

To hubby:

State your name and birth date.

What is your wife's name and birth date?

What is your address?

When was your last entry into the States and what type visa was used?

Did you have any arrests?

Have you done anything that you didn't get arrested for?

Ever involved in espionage, terrorist acts...planning on it?

Ever use someone else's passport, ID, etc?

Ever been denied entry into the States?

What are your parents names?

Still married? (this is when hubby thought she was asking about his parents and she said "No, are you two still married?")

Then she confirmed his daughter's names, birth dates and ex wives and divorce dates.

To me:

State your name and birth date.

When were you two married? Where?

How did you meet?

How long did we know each other before talking seriously?

When did we first meet in person?

Then she asked if I had any children and what were their names and birth dates.

She confirmed the info on my first marriage and divorce.

I had a copy of the AOS paperwork as well as additional enclosures of pay stubs, bills, insurance and checking acct info and receipts of trips and wedding. All were labeled and clipped together with a large clip. I had a list on top so she could see what was enclosed at a glance. (pats myself on the back LOL) I pulled out the packet of pictures I had made copies of. I told her she could keep them and she seemed pleasantly surprised. She asked me some questions of who was so-and-so and I was able to show her a friend and his girlfriend who was responsible for us meeting and she had me write that on the back of the photo. She asked me random questions of more pictures and then she said it will take up to 120 days for a decision. All she needed to do is go through the paperwork to make sure we had everything in order and would check if his name and fingerprints had cleared when she got back to the home office. We shook hands and left. It seemed to go pleasantly and we didn't leave with a feeling of worry. So I will check back as soon as we hear something.

Good luck to the rest of the July filers that have their interview to complete!

There isn't much I can tell you, as you know we are in the same case. I wouldn't trust too much the fact that they gave you two different dates, IO always seem to know different things depending on whom you talk to.

We are going to need a lot of patience in dealing with this slow process, but hey, you are together and you both can work and are legally here, that is the most important part.

I'm like you, hoping I won't have to renew the EAD. Keeping fingers crossed for sure on that one.

I'm planning on calling USCIS either tomorrow or sometimes next week to see if there is anything new. Since my I-485 is still not visible online I might as well enjoy the fact that I can talk to an IO and not the guy reading the case online.

On a personal level things are good. I currently have 3 jobs :P

I have my job as a Concierge, I've started working temporarily at the mall while waiting for something more interested, Monday I was offered a job in an hotel that I accepted, I was supposed to start the training next week... Except that my boss just offered me to go full time as a Concierge this morning. I'll give my answer tomorrow, but given the pay it's more so I can pretend to talk about it with Hubby than anything else.

Who says you don't get job with an EAD?

I love this country when it comes to work opportunities. Darn back at home all I was hired for was to sell sandwiches on minimum wage.

I hope all of you have good things coming your way, that all the little expatriates have a good job that they like and that all the GC are coming our way.

Jup1ter and Cecy the 3 of us are on the same boat. I never heard anything from USCIS after I received my EAD on September. My NOA date is Jul 5th, too frustrating since no update no nothing even RFE. My online status is just RECEIVED and PENDING no transfer to any local office or whatsoever.

Tonight I filed for an INFOPASS for February 15 at 8am in Fairfax. So far I got a job but we can't move if we do not have GC. VA DMV is really strict, they wont issue you a state id, drivers learners permit. Wahhhhhh!!!
