FINALLY some good news! Went to our infopass appointment today at 9:45am. After a short wait they called us up to the window. She pulled our case to see what the hold up was and "said" the lady was just about to approve our case. Do I believe that? Not really, since it took her a bit to come back so she was probably looking for it on the desk. lol Either way she said the IO was approving the case today and we'd recieve the card in 2-3 weeks. When we got home I checked my email and sure enough there was the email we've been awaiting. I'm so glad we got answers but it bugs me to think how much longer we would have been waiting if we would have never made a infopass appointment. SO relieved not to have to pay for another work permit though!!

Awesome news. Obviously bugging them is a good thing:)

Congratulations and let us know when it gets in your mailbox.

well VJ members...tomorrow is the day. We are getting up early and heading to Charlotte for our interview. We could have moved it to Raleigh, but that would have delayed us another month. 3 hours in the car, printing some additonal marriage photos, and making a couple of backup copies is all that's left of our AOS journey....we hope!

I just can't get over the fact that there is an outside possibility that we may have a hiccup or something. All the "what ifs" are in the forefront of my thoughts as we prepare for our journey. Not that there is any reason for us to be worried, it's just that the fact that there is another person that doesn't even know us that will be passing judgement on us. What if they are having a bad day, or something?

Oh well, I know we'll be fine, and I'll post our interview results upon our return to Raleigh tomorrow night. Wish us luck, and thanks for all of your support.

Good luck, I'm sure you'll do fine.

I look forward to hear about your experience at the Charlotte office. Keeping my fingers crossed that you get someone in a good mood.

And if they are in a bad mood, don't let yourself be put of by it. Be yourselves, show them who you are.

As for me I'm still stalking my mailbox, hoping every night that there will be something, but nope... In a few more weeks I'll have to fill in the papers to renew my EAD so I don't end up with a gap in between the two, unless we receive an interview letter. I sure don't look forward to the extra expense.

I'd much rather drive to Charlotte for an interview.

Congratulations, you are now a permanent resident of the United States. That's how the immigration officer in Charlotte put it after our interview. At least, that's how I remember it. The whole experience kind of seems surreal looking back. I can't believe it's finally over! Pu is ecstatic and so am I. We've already made our first attempt at a learner's permit! It's so nice to know that we can finally settle in to our new home and life together.

I have to say that the interview was in depth and it was a very serious atmosphere. I've heard many say that their interviewer was light and cordial. Our interviewer was a US Immigration Officer through and through. He was very serious and more like a police officer, but he was only doing his job.

I don't understand why some get their approvals in the mail without ever going to an interview, why others go to an interview and are given their approval without question, or why people like myself are scrutinized. This guy had gone through our entire file with tooth and comb, it seemed. No complaints, he was never rude or unprofessional. Luck of the draw, or red flags, I don't know. But, it is what it is (or was), and now it's over.

Good luck to all, and please email me if there is anyway I can help you in your VISAJOURNEY!

Congratulations.

Can you post a review under the Reviews: USCIS for Charlotte if you haven't already?

Any information on how easy it was to get there, the wait, specific advises for that office, out of the ordinary questions would be great.

Thank you and I'm happy to hear it went well.

I'd rather have a thourough but polite and professional IO than a rude but careless one personnaly.

OMG I am so so so so happy. My Hubby called me at work this morning (he wasn't working) to tell me we just got a letter from the department of Homeland Security. I was like OPEN IT! (which is why he called me).

We finally have our interview scheduled. July 17th. So exactly 1 year and 1 day from the time they received the application.

I am so releived.

Now I finally have my excuse to take the time to do our wedding album.

The cutest thing? Today it's been 11 months since we got married and I was like:"hey it would be so cool if we got something from them today of all days." And we did.

We are not going to renew my work permit. I'm taking the risk. I don't see why they wouldn't approve us so I don't want to pay 320$ just in case. If something happens, it will make things tight, but it'll still be all right.

Yea! Congrats. Thats not too far away. : )

Nope and yet not too close enought. It gives us just enough time to get things ready and hopefully for me not to stress too much (right, like that's going to happen).

In this tedious process, we tend to forget that this is all worth it.

Hi Cecy CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!. It's weird because I don't come on here too often and I was looking to see if you had had your interview. What wonderful news and about time.

I'm still waiting for my interview date. I contacted the Senator's office 6 weeks ago and apparently the I 485 supervisor is requesting my file to go through. My attorney said it could be weeks or months, who knows. I was just hoping to get back and celebrate my son's 21st birthday as I haven't seen him in 3 years but it's not going to happen. I'm just praying I can be there for Christmas.

I'm just filling out the paperwork now to renew my EAD -$340 :o when I barely have an income as I've been subbing and school's ended. I think I might have left it a bit late.

Well once again ,Congratulations. I'm going to put that on my calendar, as I can't wait to hear for your approval .

God Bless

Shona xx

Congratulations Cécy! So glad to hear that they FINALLY caught up and scheduled your interview! :star:

It took almost 11 months exactly, but yesterday the green card came in the mail! I was a rather nervous during the process, considering complicated mix ups with fingerprinting RFE's after our tough interview and the jumping around of processing dates. Thank God everything has worked out! Anyone still waiting out there, hang in there!

Thanks again to the this community for the valuable help and support. Saved dollars and peace of mind!
