GOD.

We finally got an interview date! Our interview is going to be on May 13, 2008. We had been calling every couple weeks to ask about our application, and the status of applications in the DC area, and we kept getting random answers about how they're only up to December 2006 applications! I'm so glad that it turned out to not be true. I'm hoping we receive my husband's green card around or before June 1, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he isn't stuck in name check.

Hang in there everyone, I know those of you who are still waiting must be nervous and worried, I know I was. Good luck to everyone, I wish the best for all of you! I'm sure I'll be checking in more often as the interview date approaches.

Thanks for the update Supladita and Jup1ter. It's good to hear there is some movement on fellow July filers. It had been a while since an interview had been scheduled.

I'm really happy to hear the news I have to say.

"Can they go any slower?" Well, they just updated Charlotte's processing times, and it looks like they have progressed one day since last month!! Updated March 15th, now processing June 15! Last month it was June 14!!

Does anybody have some insight as to what the heck is going on with Charlotte??? A VJer I know personally applied for I485 in October and she already has her greencard in hand! Same office, only difference was she paid the $1010 and we got in before they raised the fee. Sounds to me like we should have paid more and waited. If there is a huge backlog of petitions, then shouldn't the cases still go in chronological order? My wife and I sent our paperwork in June 2007!

I noticed that. I found it so exasperating that I didn't even want to mention it.

I try to keep motivate in the fact that what it really means is that the oldest petition they are processing is from June 15th. They probably processed a lot more from other dates.

Go figure why some get processed quicker than others. It has to do with the NSC too. From what I understand they only send the file to the local office when it's ready for an interview. Obviously we are not at that stage.

Also lot of people whose local office is Charlotte and who have been approved where really transfered to CSC. I try to check here : Charlotte Office Timeline on VJ.

Hey it's been two month since my last call... Time to bug them again since my i-485 is still not online.

I applied for AOS in end of October. Also nothing on line for AOS 1-485. did an info pass to Charlotte last Friday because my step-daughter ages out of k-2 status in July, and we had heard nothing yet on line or mail from Missouri or Charlotte. The clerk brought my wife and daughter up on computer and said we were stilling pending in Missouri(MSC), and they could not speed up FBI checks. Our attorney had flagged our case as expediated as allowed for her case , but it has not made any difference so far. The clerk said that North Carolina will be adding a center in Raleigh and like half their Charlotte staff was there getting it set up. He said he would call and leave a message at MSC, but then again, I am not sure he understood about aging out. So, no new news other than North Carolina should have 2 centers up and running before long. Good luck to you July and June folks , you have been neglected for sure. Try info pass for the heck of it.

Thanks for the news. At least it doesn't feel as bad knowing others are in the same boat. It's bad for my wife because we didn't file for employment authorization because we knew she wouldn't be working for at least 6 months, and based on timelines in July we figured she would have her greencard by the end of 2007. Now, it's come to a screeching halt and she is a little bored staying home. We can't even get her learner's permit until she has her greencard!!! Bad decision to not file for employment authorization, I know. To file now would be a waste of money, since we could get the good news tomorrow, right? Ugggg!!!!

Having a Raleigh office will be great for us, since we live in the Triangle. Anybody have a timeline for that?

They did it. The Charlotte office processing dates went BACK in time.

March 15th, processing timeframe for the I-485: June 15 2007.

April 15th, processing time frame for the I-485: May 16 2007

I'm going to call USCIS again in the beggining of May. it will be 3 months then that I have not asked them anything. I know it won't bring anything, but in certain way it makes me feel better. Plus I still can't see my I-485 online (probably never will), so I have an excuse.

A friend online advised me to contact the senators of our State, but I wonder given that we are not out of the processing times yet if they would/could do anything.

OMG, I can't believe your local office went backwards!!! Thats insane. I'm so sorry you're wait is so long. Good luck with the next time you call and hopefully you'll get some good news soon.
