Hi,

So nvc processing of my cr-1 visa is almost done- just waiting for case complete- but my 129 which was just approved now got sent to the nvc. Do i need to cancel the 129 becoz i want to go through with the 130. Would it put my 130 on hold now that 129 is also at nvc? should i just leave everything as it is? really dont want 129 to interfere now that 130 is almost done. What should i do?

My wife's case was in a similar situation (see timeline below). We tried to stop the K3 at various stages, but that proved impossible. Only at the very last step, after they had already sent packet 3 to my wife did they stop the K3 and set up an IR1 interview for my wife. In any case, I found the consulate much more responsive than NVC. According to an NVC telephone operator, NVC is about two weeks behind on dealing with their incoming emailings, so it is virtually impossible now to get anything done by email in a timely manner. I would suggest that you let both applications simply run their course. If the K3 should catch up, you can always contact the consulate then. And you have control over the K3 by not returning the packet 3 until the IR1 is ready.

My wife's USCIS journey:

I-130 (IR1) Timeline

03-26-07 -- I-130 sent to VSC
