Hi everyone!

I'm having my CFO seminar on the 3rd of sept. I just have a question, coz it is instructed not to detach the Immigrant data summary from the visa packet, but for the CFO requirements, the photocopy and the orig copy of the data summary are required. Does this mean I have to bring the visa packet when I go to the seminar?

ur responses will be greatly appreciated!

Hi, You can bring it with you. I saw some approved applicants brought their envelope with them during their interview. I had my CFO 1 month before my K-1 interview.

I think you need to photocopy your passport and US visa.

Hope it helps.

I dont think they need a copy of data summary, they didnt ask me for that. just bring your passport with visa on it. try calling the CFO office for confirmation before you go. You can even go there with just your passport alone why would they need a data summary?

Ok, I have to ask as I've seen "CFO" too many times with regards to Philippine posts. What does CFO stand for? Each time I see CFO, I'm thinking Chief Financial Officer. But I know that's not what it means in this regards. It has something to do with a seminar that a Philippine visa applicant must attend?

CFO stands for Commission on Filipino Overseas. it's a government agency mainly to support Filipinos abroad. overseas workers, spouses/fiance/e can't go out of the country without proper documentation/permit from the said office.

the seminar is a mandate from CFO itself which is given by two recognized agencies -- SMEF-COW and PRISM. yellow certificate will be given after which is also the ticket to get the green certificate and the permit from the CFO office.

for K-1 applicant, immigrant visa summary is not required. u can bring the packet on the seminar and ur passport as well, though it wasnt asked for most of the applicants who went through that.

WOW! Very interesting! The Philippine government is quite protective of their citizens. Good for them. Wish all countries did something like that, or at least offered it on a voluntary basis. Thanks for the info lirachadsbaby.

I apologize to the OP for getting off topic a bit. Please return to the original topic.
