well they should have a medical evaluation to see if they are able to drive carefully or not.. not because u have a car and a license and drove for 40 years doesn't mean u can do it when you're 70-80 years old..

exactly. I'm not saying let them have free reign of the road, but make them retest yearly...great idea.

I dont want to demean them, i agree with you karo, but yes a yearly test would be great, for all ages.

As well as a medical every year as well. And i think EVERYONE should have to read the drivers manual again, because no one seems to remember what a red light is, or a stop sign, or what the big red lights on the back of a car are when they turn on (brake lights if i wasnt clear haha).

Elderly drivers scare me to death. I've been in two accidents caused by them. I think society in as a whole should change from being so independant--at the risk of peple's lives and have soiciety take care of the elders--give them limosuine service--treat them like queens and kngs--but don't let them drive on their own in the name of dignity--just get them a chueffer!

Do you know how many YOUNG people cant drive as well?? They pass the test the first or second sometimes FIFTH time finally and then once they get it in their hand and get out on the road, its like they forgot everything they learned before the test. Everyone, young, old, decreped should IMO take a yearly drivers test. It shouldnt matter if your a good driver or not, if you are, then you have no fear of failing the test yearly.

Fact: more accidents are caused by people the age 18-27 years of age. second would be the old folks

oh, im just talking about myself.. the other younguns.. yeah.. there are a lot of dumb drivers.. and ####### who will drunk drive or try to do something stupid.. I already learned my lessons though lol...
