at my london interview everything went well but was handed a blue form 221g request for further information. Consular officer was very nice and said if we sent everything then he had no issues giving me a visa after that.

The ticked part that I dont really understand is writeen as below.:

An affidavit of support (form I-864, I-864EZ

or I-864W) from _______________ (and in that blank the officer wrote "joint sponsor"), the sponsor who filed your immigration visa petition. If the sponsor's and his/her income and assets are to be used to meet minimum requirements, your relative and his/her spouse must complete the I-864a, contract between sponsor and household member" your relative signs as "sponsor and his/her spouse signs as "household member" ( and after this part he wrote my father in law who os the co sponsor,;s name)

PLEASE NOTE the consular officer ONLY circled the I864a part although he did write "joint sponsor" at the top part and I am sooooo confused, I thought I got it all sorted at the interview on what he wanted.

I think I made a HUGE mistake and misread the form wrong and of course all these questions came to my head after the interview and at that point you cant really talk to anyone once youve left the building or ring anyone that can help.

I only sent in the I864a as I thought officer only needed this.

any useful comments and advice will help.

AND IF I get another request for further information being the I864 can I make an appointment to go directly andhand my papers in and not go via the SMS courier way as that will take too long.

You have no info in your profile or timeline, but I assume you were applying for a CR1/IR1?

If all you filled out was the I 864a, its no wonder they gave you the 221g.

Have your sponsor fill out the I 864 and get it to the consulate. I'll bet once they receive that, they will issue the visa.

Did they not give you instructions how to return the form? I think you have to send it - I don't believe they'll allow you to make an appointment to drop it off.

Sorry...my application is for I-130 filed in USA by my green card holder husband. As I live in UK the file was sent to london embassy in UK. The I-864 was originally sent to the NVC. But PLEASE what do you guys interpret the request for information as. Do they need both I-864 as well as the circled I864a as my father is the joint sponsor. Does it really make a difference if they dont have the I-864

Seems like you should contact the embassy and request clarification on the information provided on the 221g
