Can I get the medical examination and biographic information done in New York or will I have to do that from home(Denmark) before filing for AOS?

And how quick is the process?

If you came here on a K-1 Visa, and your medical exam in Denmark was less than one year ago, you do not require another medical exam for the AOS. All you need is the Vaccination Supplement.

This must be prepared by a civil surgeon in the U.S. and the information can be transferred from the Vaccination Worksheet (from the K-1 medical exam) onto the Vaccination Supplement. We were charged $35.00 for this service.

If your medical exam was more than one year ago for your K-1 Visa, then you will have to have another medical exam done in the U.S. by a civil surgeon.

Make sure you call around to several civil surgeons to get the best price because we were quoted a very wide range of prices when we called around.

Good luck.

You would find a civil surgeon and have a full medical including vaccinations done here before filing for AOS, Biometrics will be scheduled by USCIS for you.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Well, if you stay here and get married, have it done here of course. Find a Civil Surgeon and take care of it. If possible have someone send you your medical information (including vaccination), so you avoid paying too much for it. If the civil surgeon doesn't have proof that you had such and such vaccine, he'll have to give it to you.

If you plan on coming back to Denmark before getting married, then you'll need to apply for a K1. If you go back after getting married and before applying for AOS and or getting AP, you'll need to file for a K3. Keep that in mind.

Now that you are in the US and since you obviously didn't have intent to get married you can stay and apply for AOS. I know you didn't mention that part, but since you were taking about the possibility of getting the medical in Denmark I just wanted to precise it.

Congratulations on your engagement.

Katherine, you need a full medical done by a Civil Surgeon in your area (New York). Here's the Civil Surgeon locator for you:

https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=of...office_type=CIV

Punch in your zip code, find those that are closer to you, and call as many as you can to find out how much they charge - prices may vary greatly!

Good luck! :)

Filed AOS from F-1
Green Card approved on 01/04/07
Conditions removed 01/29/09

Citizenship Oath 08/23/12
