Can you do your medical exam the day of your interview at the embasy or do you have to do it ahead of time at one of the doctors listed in packet three? If you can do your medical at the interview will it take longer for them to mail you your visa?

you can do your medical either way. You can just go without a appointment (if the Panel Physician is in Frankfurt) M0-Fri 7:30 - 11:00 am or you wait until you receive your interview and they set you up the appointment @ the same day.

Yes it will take a few days longer for you to receive your Visa because they have to wait for the lab results from the Panel Physician, which really is only a few days not a month :)

But to prevent stress go to the Doctor before you got your interview like a view days before or a view weeks before.

I went for my medical in Frankfurt before I received my interview appointment because I wanted to get it over with and not have two things to worry about on the day.

I have since gotten Packet 4 which lists a 07.00 appointment for the medical, but I can ignore that.

When I was in the doctor's office at Frankfurt there were a lot of people there who were going on to the embassy afterwards for their interview. Because it takes so long to do all the tests etc some of them had already passed their interview time and were worried. The doctors assured them though that it wasn't a problem. Still, I was glad I didn't have to be at the embassy after waiting around for three hours at the doctors!

you can have youre medical whenever. i suggest to do it a couple days or weeks before your interview, makes things easier and smoother. and they will already have your results the day you go the embassy and therefor your visa will get to you earlier. in fact it doesnt delay the issuance for long if you choose to have your medical on the same day, id say about a week longer.

i know that you do not need to schedule an appointment when you go the panel physician in frankfurt, but you need one for the others.

so if you decide to get it done before hand and you will get packet 4 with the appointment for the interview just ignore the date and time they give you for the medical!

no worries, the consulate in frankfurt is awesome, everything went fine for me on thursday!

I myself had my medical done several weeks before my interview.

I think it is best to have it done before, cos the Visa will be able to issued faster as they will then have the results earlier. Also check out this helpful website:

Either way you want to do it. I did mine in Berlin on Dec. 19 2006 and had my interview Feb 2, 2007. I wanted to do it ahead of time so there would be no holdups! When I went to my interview in February, they already had all my exam papers there and my VISA got approved that same day.

Can you do your medical exam the day of your interview at the embasy or do you have to do it ahead of time at one of the doctors listed in packet three? If you can do your medical at the interview will it take longer for them to mail you your visa?
