Mail Returned to USCIS because no name on mailbox

Looking forward to the day when I (hopefully) will be sent my EAD/Green cards, I see that a number of ppl have experienced delivery problems because their external mailbox did not display their name.

Can I just ask, what is the delivery service being used? If it's a private courier service (eg. not USPS), do we have to pay extra for the delivery?

anything from USCIS comes in the normal mail with USPS...if your name isnt on the mail box please put it there just to be on the safe side...although it didnt happen with USCIS correspondence i dont know how much mail sent to me from overseas didnt come because my name wasnt there...

i never even thought of it until i saw it mentioned in here...and i caught the postman one day and asked about some mail that i was expecting from australia..

Thanks for that......... that is strange, I wonder how the instructions are given to the mailman to deliver only if a name is displayed?

i dunno.. i am wondering how people go with mail boxes at houses...i know i put my name inside the box at our mailing boxes down stairs we live in an apartment...

in oz the mailman delivered everything for that address regardless what name was on it.. and it was up to the resident to send it back or if no return address throw it or catch the postman and tell them...

It depends on the mail carrier. Some deliver mail ONLY to the people listed on the box and some don't care. So better to be safe than sorry and put your name on the box (the inside is fine since they'll still see it).

The post office cannot forward your card. If there is a name other than yours on the mailbox you use to get your mail, the post office will not deliver your card. In either of these situations, they will return your card to us as undeliverable.
