But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

His 'race comments' in that quote are just plain stupid.

You've never heard of black Americans being only interested in the welfare of Africans?

Indeed. Because blacks apparently only care about other blacks.

Hmmmm....

Democratic Hopefuls Explore Issues of Concern to Blacks at All-American Presidential Forum

WASHINGTON (AP) A historically diverse field of Democratic presidential candidates -- a woman, a black, an Hispanic and five whites -- denounced an hours-old Supreme Court affirmative action ruling Thursday night and said the nation's slow march to racial unity is far from over.

....

“Clinton was strong on three issues: Health care, Darfur and AIDS,” said Dr. Silas Lee, who joined the Clinton campaign as a pollster from New Orleans, focusing on black issues related to Hurricane Katrina. He said he thought, though, based on conversations with several audience members, that a number of people wished they had heard more about the living wage, affordable housing and health care.

...

"I do think Sen. Obama missed an opportunity, however, when the candidates were asked about Darfur and how America did nothing in Rwanda,” Groff said. “This should have been an opportunity to 'remind' Biden, Edwards, Dodd, Richardson and Clinton of their inaction on Rwanda despite previous influence, and that many remain in those same positions today while faced with genocide in Sudan."

It still doesn't add much 'intelligence' to that statement he made.

Rush is an entertainer and commentator. If you don't like him then that is your choice. I find it unreal that the left so despises him. You have your venom spouting commentators on the left but nobody seems to notice. Is there a double standard at work here?

Michael Moore has been pretty well vilified by right leaning folks.

I would add that Limbaugh has made a few comments about blacks that make most people's skin crawl.

Why do you think that 'leftist commentators' would be spokesmen of mine? I don't believe I have (ever) quoted any of those guys in support of anything I've said.

I don't watch those types of shows... at all... actually.

Moore is a hack. I liked him in the early 90's before he started doing all that overtly political stuff.

My local congressman (Pallone) mails me at home telling me about his efforts to introduce a Gandhi statue somewhere in Edison and a Diwali stamp with USPS. I read those leaflets and wonder why he isn't saying jacks$hit about the fact that NJ residents (yes, even the Indian-American ones) pay more in taxes to the Federal govt than they get back.

Oh, that's right. I'm Indian-American, so I must not care about those things. I only care about some silly Gandhi statue.

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.

Wow. Is that what happens if you indicate your ethnic identity on government forms?
