We hardly slept last night..... really nervous...... our AOS interview was at 9.30 this morning!!!

Arrived with only 10 minutes to spare, despite leaving the house an hour earlier than we needed to, (Underestimated the commuter traffic!!)

Waited until 9.40, and got called in by IO, a Mr Abraham, young, black, very nice and friendly.....put us at ease immediately!!! Swore us in,

Asked us both a few personal questions (birthday of spouse, home address, children, etc.) Asked how long we had been married, asked my husband for tax returns, etc.

We both felt very relaxed.... unexpectedly so!!!

Then Mr Abraham told me I had been approved, but my FBI namecheck hadn't been cleared yet.

I asked him exactly what my status is.... He showed me a big red APPROVED stamped on my forms, and told us everything was OK and we should just go home and wait for the greencard.

I asked how long the FBI check should take, and Mr.A said it didn't matter...... I have EAD and advance parole....... so don't worry about anything!!! :dance::dance:

I walked out of the office feeling as if a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders... I don't think it's sunk in yet!!!

10/04/2010: Application was received.

10/06/2010: Email received "Application has been received" & Noticed Date.

10/07/2010: "Touch"

10/08/2010: "Touch" & Check was Cashed

10/09/2010: NOA1 Received via mail.

10/22/2010: Status Changed Online "Request for evidence" It was for Biometrics.

10/25/2010: Request for evidence recieved "Biometrics Notice".

11/18/2010: Biometrics date ==> 11:00AM. Biometrics was taken On time.

12/03/2010: "Yellow Letter" Received.

12/06/2010: "Touch" Case Moved to "Testing and Interview".

12/08/2010: Interview Letter received via mail.

01/13/2011: Interview Date. Done, " Thanks To ALLAH, I Passed the Test.

01/18/2011: Oath Letter was Sent.

01/20/2011: Oath Letter Recieved via mail.

01/28/2011: Oath Date. ==> Done, I am a U.S. Citizen

01/31/2011: Applied for a U.S. Passport Book, And, U.S. Passport Card.

02/25/2011: Passport Book's Received.

02/26/2011: Passport Card's Received.

02/28/2011: Certificate Of Naturalization's Returned.

  • 02-13-07 - He proposed!!!
  • 07-04-07 - We signed papers on the Civil Registration Office and are legally married!
  • 07-09-07 - I changed my name on a new passport

  • 12-03-08 - Found out we are pregnant!!!!!

I dont want to be a party pooper....but had my interview in Atlanta as well on 7th Aug...Its aproved pending a fbi name check....same case as yours...

I was not a single bit happy when the interviewer said the fbi check is not cleared yet....after going thru this forum and learning some people waited 3 years for their gc, I am already stressed. Wish you all the best for a speedy name check.

Basab, I'm really not too worried about the namecheck......It'll come when it's ready!!!

As the IO pointed out , I can work, travel, and live in the US,same as if I had a greencard....and even if my greencard doesn't arrive until November 2008, it will then be unconditional, as we'll have been married 2 years!

Mr A. The IO also told me there's a huge backlog of FBI checks, and it might come tomorrow.... might come in 2 years..... but don't worry, as we're basically through the process..............So don't worry, my friend!!

I won't be losing any sleep over it!!! :whistle:

Thats nice and positive thinking. Appreciate that :) Well I had an H-1B Visa before and I could work, live and travel as well. But there is an additional charm in the "green card" itself, I mean when you get the card in hand. But anyways enjoy and congrats
