i live in new york city and am curious whether new york is one of those 'districts' that i read about which take longer to process naturalization requests, because it has a very high immigrant population...

i read 5 months to 2 years, based on where you file...is new york closer to two years?

I wish I could help you but I truly have no idea....the only thing you can do is check the official processing times on the USCIS website although they are not always all that reliable unfortunately....

My wife and I are searching for a fast place also. We are in the LA district but can move anywhere. Where did you read about the slowness of the higher immigrant populated districts? We have been told it was the opposite, that the districts wait till they have enough people to naturalize thereby making it a longer time in less populated areas. We were considering Arkansas because we had such good luck there with the green card interview, advance parole and overall speed. But we are hearing from immigrants there that it is taking a year and a half.
