Time from Mailing to NOA1?

Hello folks,

I mailed out my I-129F petition on July 27th and according to my return receipt, it was received in Nebraska on July 30th. The problem is that the particular receipt I chose apparently only tells me that the envelope made it to Nebraska, not that it made it to the service center (the post office did not tell me this). I have not yet received my NOA1 and my account has not been debited the amount of the check.

Now since I mailed it out just before the prices went sky-high, I thought perhaps they were just having processing delays as I'm sure I wasn't the only person to send it out last-minute (though I didn't know the prices were going up!), but it seems like everybody else on here has had a much shorter waiting time. Has anybody else sent out their packets just before the price change and had a delay like this?

I'm getting very worried. I really can't afford to pay the price increase right now if my envelope did not make it to the service center.

Effective 30 July, Nebraska no longer handles I-129Fs. Your case was forwarded to California as ours was. Thus, the extra step slowed down your First NOA. It took us 12 days to get our first NOA.

Yep I agree your case if forward to California,there has been delays with people getting their NOA1´s so I would just wait a little.

Don't fear. I'm sure you will receive your NOA1 soon. USCIS is a mess right now and all the shuffling has caused delays in some cases. Keep watching for your check to be cashed. This will probably be the first thing you will notice. You can retrieve the case number from your canceled check once its cashed.

We got our NOA1 after 34 days since we filed.... at the end it doesn't really matter, I've noticed that we got approved even before other filers who received their NOA1 a lot faster than what we did.

I'm in the same boat. Filed as of july 26th and no replies.

Unlike you I don't e_en ha_e confirmation from USPS (lost he receipt).

Really, hoping it didn't get lost on the way (like my cell phone this week, damn UPS).

Hi. I sent my I-129F on July 28 before the fee increase. I got worried also. They finally cashed the check on Aug 20th. I received my Notice of Action today on the mail. They are just swamp. So just be patient. It will arrive soon.. Someone told me here they still haven't got their NOA1 in a month.

Thanks everyone for your kind words and stories. I'm a very nervous person when it comes to things that I can't check on and don't know a whole lot about (though I've read a metric ****-ton of articles, stories, and threads). My first flight to Britain? Gawds, I was a basket case until I got to Heathrow....

OUTSTANDING... I was a day or two behind you (they got mine at Nebraska on 1-Aug) so giving a few more days for them to send it on to California I should see the check hit my bank any day now...

I checked my account this morning and I am dancing on the ceiling because THEY CASHED THE CHECK!!!!

I sent it on July 27th and it took them until August 24th to cash it, but I'm so relieved!

we never recieved a NOA1, that one isnt that important. the NOA2 is what you should be longing for! we've been waiting for a long time now and our first touch was only yesterday! dont worry, be patient!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! just checked and my check was cashed TODAY!!! sent in to NE on July 28, today is the 24th so almost a month, and cool, it is our 1 year and 5 month anniversary of meeting today (or is it 2 years 5 months, LOL) ! I'm on the "Visa Journey" lol! So what is the next thing i need to do and next step?

I can hardly see the numbers on the back of check. What number am i to look for? Where is it? There are more than one I think? What is the place I can key it in and check status (web url)?

i am a little upset that they moved things to CA, why? Seems like NE would be so much quicker and easier. I am a NE resident and everything is better here. What do you think? Will this really hold things up more or not?

The K1 petitions have only been processed by CSC and VSC for a long time now. VSC used to be a lot quicker but they are both getting to be as slow at the moment.
