Well, not knowing who is a troll and who isn't, how are we supposed to be able to discriminate?

I answer posts that I feel I can contribute to, without analyzing the potential intentions of the OP.

How are we to keep track of this?

What I am saying, is that this process is not usually run with a lawyer and suddenly VJ came and is stealing their job away.

It´s the opposite. Since the process is complex people seek lawyers to help them out.

But people are entitled to ask other people how they did it and try it out for themselves, without the help of a lawyer.

If a lawyer was needed or required all immigration processes would have the rule that they can only be filed through a lawyer.

I really don´t see ANY gray area. The lawyers that side with this are immigration lawyers trying to make more money out of this process. I am sure there plenty of immigration cases that in fact does need to be solved through a lawyer, and that´s why immigration attorneys are there.

Again I agree with you... but the way he sees it that there is giving of advice regarding immigration matters on boards like this and there is bad information being given on these boards that could harm individuals...

it doesn't matter to him that the bad information is universially shouted down by those who do know what is going on... it only matter that there is bad "advice" being posted... it also doesn't apparently matter to him that there is a lot of bad advice going around that is dispensed by attorneys as well....

One thing that is of utter importance here, is that this is a forum, and that nobody here says that anything said here is definitive or the only truth. People accept the advice here or not at their own risk.

And so so true about lawyers disclosing wrong info as well. Heck, some of the members here are here ´cus their lawyers didn´t do a good job. :o

EDIT: I´ve been reading this, starting with the article in there, and I must say even in the article it´s clear they´re talking about people POSING as lawyers, not people STATING they are regular people who went through this.

Exactly... the article is about notarios... which have become a real problem in latino communities... these guys are just thieves... pure and simple...

But to take the notario problem and apply it to their self described "netarios" is a stretch indeed...

You know, when I first started here I remember most of my questions were met with the response.. check the guides blah blah blah.. LOL and to be 100% honest it was a little annoying because I had checked the guides and the questions I had were obviously being asked because the guides weren't helping me.

Now being as far along in the process as we are I understand why I got that response. Obviously being new, and quite frankly until the last week or so, it never would have occurred to me that there were false posters. Shows you how naive I am/was LOL
