Ok, i am a bit embarassed for asking this, but I am nervous about calling the NVC to see if our case has arrived. Last time I called the menus said to press 1 for immigrant visas and press 2 for K visa. I pressed 2 and they said they were connecting me to an operator. I didn't want to talk to an operator. i just wanted the automated machine so I could enter my receipt number. Our I-129F was approved only on Aug 13th so it hasn't been that long, but I am curious. If I do call, what exactly am I asking for? If there has been a case number assigned? DO I just ask for the status? It's silly, but I'm nervous about getting a grumpy operator.

Silly, I know... but can you give me an idea of what to say?

Talk to an operator. Be ready with your receipt number, name and DOB of beneficiary and conformation of your name and phone number. They can tell you your new case # if they have your petition there.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

To check on your I-129F status at NVC you need to speak with an operator. This is because I think information for K3s is not available using the automated response system.
