It means "Federal Express" (Not American Express) will contact you about delivery your visa package and passport.

The visa should have a six mos. expiry and six mos. from today is February 21, 2008 +/-. Maybe a insignificant detail but I would be a bit skeptical until more pieces of the puzzle have been played out.....

YMMV

The wording of your first post indicates the issue of the visa will occur within days if not already. You'll be getting a call from the courier, Federal Express, about delivery of your passport and visa along with a sealed brown envelope you are not to open. Hand it over to the officer when you enter the US.

If I were you, I would get my affairs in order and prepare to travel to the US. Welcome to the USA.

Well, It has been 10 days I have not heard neither from the embassy nor from the American Express about my visa. But according to our senator inquiry last week, My case is still in AP.

It's always possible you misunderstood or misquoted the caller. Again, American Express will have nothing to do with your visa process. They are a Credit Card company. Perhaps you heard "Federal Express".

If you have a token number, you can call American Express and inquire about it. My husband was given a token number from Islamabad and contact number for American Express. Good Luck!

I was not given any token number. The only thing they gave me a white paper which says case is in AP/AR and a blue 221G form.

They sent in my case for clearance to D.C in oct, 2006 and clearance came back in April, 2007 That time they did not have my passports. In May,2007 they asked for my passports and sent in again for clearance to washington D.C. since then I am waiting.

Actually, AMEX has a bank in ISL that offers VISA application services. They work with the Embassy a lot. My husband applied for a visitors visa at the AMEX in ISL and picked up his Visa at the AMEX in Karachi. Unless the Embassy uses a Courier (TCS) to send his passport and visa directly to him, AMEX will contact him when they receive it.
