in 30 minutes i will be leaving to drive my daughter for her first surgery...

I know it is supposed to be a minor operation.. arthroscopic.. and those are fairly easy..

and being in the Medical field.. I can see the physical aspect..and the ease and such.. buttttt

NOW I am not at work.. and this is my baby.. even tho she is almost 15 yrs old.. it is still my babe.. and I am sooo nervous...

I think i would be feeling better if it was a definitive plan on surgery.. attempting to correct the problem via arthroscopic but doctor is 50% unsure of if that is what he needs to do.. and may possibly have to do a tibial tubercle ostoeotecomy and that is harder surgery.. longer recovery more risks.. ..

ok ok ok ok ok o k.. breathe.... .. think positive... .. all will be just fine..

damn. its hard being momma sometimes...

I know the feeling. My daughters first surgery was when she was 4 yrs old, she had tubes put in her ears. It was the scariest feeling in the world. You are going to be fine, and your daughter will be fine. Breathe woman, and know it will be over before you know it. You are good mommy!!!

Thanks to all for the good blessings and wishes..

The surgery went well..

She actually surprised the surgeon for he thought she might have a bit of tissue to remove called plica.. but it ended up actually being alot more than was expected and actually was locked into the joint space.

Once he got that done.. he went ahead and did do the lateral release of the tendon.. He was pleased. with all that he ended up doing and he believes that he may not need to do a tibial tuberocity osteoctomy.. that he thought .. that will be hard.. or alot more pain for her.

a hour after the surgery the surgeon came out and talked to me.. sitting down going over the end results.. and the photos of the surgery.. she then came out of post-op.. wheeled her into a room where her sister and myself joined her.

she was soo out of it. hehehe.. just seeing her. made me feel so much better..

she ran into some trouble with pain.. that they were thinking of admiting her for the night.. but.. .. gave her about another hour for medications to really kick in .. .. and if it did. she could go home. Thank goodness. hour 20 minutes.. and injection of morphine. and two vicodon with 3 advil... finally did the job.. she was able to move in bed without tears. at about 5pm this afternoon ... she was finally released.. ..

she has her little thrown all made up.. the recliner.. loaded with pillows.. ice packs. .. 7-up.. ghram cracker.. and jello at her finger tips. ..

She is on medication every 4 hours.. so will be waking up .. to get it to her..

wow. sorry rambling here. really tired.. .. one more hour till next medications.. dont want to fall asleep until i get it to her.. ..

zzzzzz again thanks everyone.. It meant alot to have those words here too.. Jan tried but.. I was losing it.. stressing and such and he couldnt be here ..

Just another life trials we must do during our seperation... and like all others. just another step that makes the two of us that much closer..

I'm glad it went well

My 11 year old son had appendicitis at the beginning of Summer and an appendectomy at like 4am that morning.....scared the crud out of me! I know how you feel

Not the boundaries drawn on maps,

With the names of powerful men.

That's all I've wanted -

To walk in such a place with you,

On an earth without maps."
