Thai curry paste - am sure we will track it down eventually but as yet havent' found it

Shouldn't be too hard. You don't say where you live, but most places in the USA have asian stores, and other stores will sell Thai paste too. My local supermarket sells "Tiger Tiger" brand curry paste which has a UK address on it in its Thai section!

Still living in the UK but will be living in Yucaipa, SoCal - my OH is there right now and hasn't had any luck... he is a man though so maybe he just isn't looking hard enough ;)

Bovril - much nicer than Marmite

Yeah, no luck there. Bovril was banned years back after the BSE thing. Even thought its now vegetarian, I've never seen it. Buy a few jars in the UK, that's what I do. A large jar of Bovril lasts for years and never goes off!

Deffo going to buy a big jar of Bovril if not two - it does keep for ages and I have never seen it there :D

Vegetable stock cubes

No chance!

Hehe - I have found beef, chicken, fish, lamb... all random meat ones but no veggie - again I am sure there must be some somewhere - surely!!

Colmans mustard (I hate it but my OH loves it)

I've found this at most upmarket stores in the USA.

Yeah - I've found it there but it is soo expensive compared to here because it has been imported that tbh I would prefer to just bring some from home. Besides - I don't even like it and as much as I love my OH it's not like he's grown up on it all his life. If we run out he'll just have to wait til we go back!!

Decent chocolate (rather than the stuff that tastes like laxative)

Avoid Hershey's basically.

Hell yeah - I love Hershey mini cookies but their chocolate sucks ;)

Oh you won't have any issue getting Thai Curry paste living there. Just go to Trader Joe's in Redlands (10 miles away). I believe there's even a British Store in Redlands as well, or maybe just an English Pub (there is definitely an English Pub in Redlands, or at least there was 3 years ago when I lived in that neck of the woods). If not there's an English import store in Ontario, which isn't too much farther.

I just woke up from a dream in which I was sitting in my mum's kitchen, chatting with her, while (this is the 'important' bit!) munching Smith's square crisps with Rose's lime marmalade spooned onto them.:help: Quite why anyone would choose to eat those two things in combination I have noooo idea (I know I wouldn't do it when awake!), but as my husband just went 'huh?' when I told him, I thought I'd post my Brit-foodstuff-related dream here.

Damn... I would love a bag of square crisps right about now....

Haha - good point, so they are! I still think of them as Smith's Square Crisps even though Smith's (and Golden Wonder... and KP... and any other kind of non-Walkers crisp) haven't existed in a looooooong time! And just thinking about that made me do a bit of Googling and I found this... 2'30'' into the clip, I used to love that ad (singing potatoes!) when I was a kid!! (Yeah, off-topic, I know!)

Filed: Citizen (apr) Country: England
Timeline
After being here for 8 weeks now, theres only 4 things i really miss, lucozade...salad cream..quorn sausages..and gravy that is suitable for non meat eaters...jez i want a gravy meal, what do other veggies eat here when they want gravy, ive found one and thats cr@ppy fat free. going to have to pay thru the nose and order my bisto onion online i suppose.

I'm not sure about some of these things but if you happen by a Shoprite (the are in PA & NJ) I know some of them carry Bisto and real salad creme plus real baked beans and other English stuff, since that's where hubby gets it.

Another source is Wegmans. Before he discovered them there we ordered everything online...it's the shipping that kills ya.
