I am trying to call NVC all day, press 1 for English and press 5 for operator. Automated message says all operators are busy and please call back later. I really need to talk to someone at NVC. Any advise? What should I do? Thanks everyone!!!

filafila,

Either keep trying or try calling at a different time of day - they are on Eastern Time so earlier is supposedly better, but we had decent luck throughout the day.

I found that it was always best to contact NVC about 30 minutes before the close of their business day. Which, I believe, is midnight Eastern Standard time. Not bad at all. I'm not at that stage yet with my K1 petition, but 2 years ago I was there with a CR1 visa. And that is when I had the most luck. In fact, i usually got operators who had all the time in the world to research questions for me. Good luck!! You could also try asking some of your questions here. There are so many experienced users here, that i would consider this place the most comprehensive aide in anyone's K visa journey. Who needs lawyers when we've got each other???

Usually calling in the morning or right before they close is a good time.

Nini - Vancouver BC, Canada (she's the one who does the forum thing)

Bee - Devon PA, USA (he's the one who gave her the shiny ring)

Getting our sanity tested by bureaucracy since 2007.

Here we go again...

Reply from NVC may take at least a week then you will get your query answered. Also NVC can give you your interview date too. They can provide it to you faster than the embassy in your area. God bless.

It's taking a while. I emailed them on August 2 and received a reply on August 17. I'm assuming they are pretty backlogged with emails... or just lazy.
