I'm one of those people who sent in the DS-3025 (vaccination supplement) with my AOS/EAD application and then noticed the VJ advice that some people receive an RFE asking for an I-693A instead. This would be quite annoying if I do get an RFE as the USCIS forms did not specify either form.

Anyway, how are we looking at the moment? has anyone slipped through with a DS-3025 recently?

I'm just not sure whether to take pro-active steps in getting a I-693A at this stage.......

Thanks, Ed.

We did both. I believe the DS-3025 was in the 'brown envelope' that was given to the immigration person at the POE. Most posts that I have read refer to the supplemental so that is why we did the I-693A. Good luck

At this point, the most I would do is look on uscis.gov at the civil surgeon locater to find the closest docs. If one is handy, you might give them a ring to discover their procedure for completing the form should you need it.

I wouldn't spin my wheels until I got an RFE - if I knew I could resolve the problem easily and quickly.

I think you have a 50/50 chance of receiving an RFE for the I-693A.

I sent in the DS-3025 with both my own and my daughter's AOS applications. I did not receive an RFE for either. I did, however, take the I-693A with me to my daughter's AOS interview, just in case they asked for it. I had to offer the I-693A to them, they did not ask for it.

My AOS was a while ago, so maybe they are a bit stricter now about having to have the I-693A.

I agree that you should probably locate a civil surgeon near you, just in case you do receive an RFE. Call around to get prices, because we were quoted a whole range of different prices from different civil surgeons. We ended up paying $35.00 to have the information transferred from the DS-3025 onto the I-693A.

Good luck.

Thanks for the advise.

Easily found a civil surgeon just around the corner.....

https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=of...office_type=CIV

Just phoned a local ocivil surgeon up and they knew what I was referring to right away (good sign)...... and I could have the I-693A completed whenever for the mere price of $278........ not cheap, but good call - at least I know I could react to the RFE quickly if needs be.

I wonder why I'd have to submit the DS-3025 if a copy was all ready included in the brown envelope that I supplied at the POE.

I don't think there are any vaccination requirements for K-1 entry, I assumed that the 'alien' surgeon completes the vaccination record at that time as he has a better chance of understanding the local vacciation records/policies for when they become relevant during the AOS process.

Thanks Raymaga

When you say

I had to offer the I-693A to them, they did not ask for it.
Was the officer interested in the I-693A when you handed it to them?

Thanks for quoting the price you got.....as my first quote is way off that, I shall be sure to phone around if the RFE drops through the door.....

I submitted both the DS 3025 and the I 693A with my AOS. In the event that the complete overseas medical somehow does not make it into the system, I'm not sure both these forms will 'cover' us, but I hope it does. That was the only reason I submitted the DS 3025. I didn't feel I 'had' to but rather, I was just trying to head off an RFE, particularly if the full medical itself was lost. May not work, but I wanted to try!

There isn't a vaccination requirement for K1 entry - K1ers are supposed to be able to complete their vaccinations during AOS. However, many consulates prefer to see that the vaccinations are up to date at the time of interview (London does) so our overseas medical doctor ensured that he had documented my husband's vaccinations.

Also, the vaccination requirements for US visas are not 'local' requirements - they're USCIS requirements.

Obviously the vaccination requirements are USCIS requirements, I mean that a US embassy-authorised doctor based in London is more able to accurately transpose my UK records onto the USCIS DS-3025 form than a US-based civil surgeon.

Quite right, the consulate in London did want to asses my vaccinations at the K-1 stage. Although I hope that the medical exam results are not lost, this process is expense enough as it is.......

I agree, you're better submitting whatever you had to hand...... Hope that gets you through it :)

Ah ok, I'm following you now. I figured there was something I was misunderstanding. And I would assume the same thing - which is why I gave the US civil surgeon a copy of the DS 3025 to have on hand when filling out the I 693A.

Here's hoping we both get through without any RFE's!

We submitted just the DS-3025 and did not have any problem. My then fiance got the extra vaccinations she was missing at her medical so we wouldn't have to deal with it here (Td, MMR, and one other I can't remember).

Remember to enter on a K-1 you don't need all the vaccinations, but to adjust status you have to be current. Possibly a reason some people would have troubles with just the DS-3025.

Thanks, that's a long way from Virginia, or are you saying that the doctor would fill-in I-693A from DS-3025 by mail?
