Mo has moved a bit down on the same street that he did live on...49 instead of 69. He still gets the mail I send to the 49 number because the postman knows him. I went on the uscis website and looked but the only info it seemed to be giving me on changing addresses was if you had a pending case and were in the us. So my question is since we are still at the csc do I call them and do an address change? How does the packet(if we ever get that far) go out? Advice please!!!

Is #49 only a few doors up from #69, as it sounds? Is he likely to keep getting his mail reliably at #49 for a while? If DOS were to pay a home visit (haven't heard of this happening much in Morocco), do the neighbors know him well enough to direct the visitors to him? If so, I'd be tempted to leave the address as it is to minimize any changes USCIS has to make to the file. My husband didn't have mail delivery to his home anyway, so it was dropped at a different location and a neighbor let him know when he had something. It was one of those neighborhoods where everyone knows everyone, so the actual house number was almost irrelevant for mail delivery.

Thanks... this is kinda what I thought, Im just worried if the passport or anything has the new address when he goes for his interview that will be a reason for them to deny. Like casa needs one. But when we first met our first christmas I sent it to a totally different address and he got it...lol I think addresses are just starting off places in Morocco. Once again thanks!!!

That's a good point. I doubt they'd deny for that, but I can see why you'd want the addresses to be consistent. I'm not sure my husband's passport even has an address listed. I'll check when I get home.

I'm on the fence about this one. I think it is always best to make sure that they have your most up to date information as they don't need ANY reason to deny or complicate your request. It really makes me mad as HE-LL that this whole process makes us all second guess ourselves.

I will say that back in the beginning of our immigration journey, when Hicham first applied while still in the States, we had given CIS our new address since Hicham moved into my house after we got married. CIS still sent a very important notification to his old address a whole YEAR after he had left there. They never notified us by telephone that it had been returned and just put it in his file.

This is true...normally Id just call and change the address and be done with it. But we are at almost 8 months since filing now and I dont want anything to hold it up...and its not like I will get a good answer if I call uscis. I could call 8 times in a row and never get the same answer!!!!

We had sort of the same dilemma filling out Hamid's paperwork this weekend. He was living at his parent's house when we filed, but has since taken a job in Marrakech. We decided to put his new address where it says "current address". We figured knowing Moroccan mail, it would get to Marrakech faster than his parent's house, which is in a small town one hour away. However, in your case, since the other address is so close and you are already getting that mail, I sure wouldn't change it now. No telling what would happen then. In our case, we figured if Hamid didn't get the mail, his parents would. Then they would call him immediately and tell him the mail was there. Debbie and Hamid

So realistically if we can get the packet to him we can put the actual address on what goes to the embassy? That might be wiser because I have NO faith in the csc.

Yes, think one says "home address" and one says "present address". We decided to put his Marrakech address on both of those, figuring if anything went to his parents, we would get it anyway. Then the question becomes, will Casa bother to even look at it????
