hey there everyone! i just received my "welcome to the U.S." notice a couple of days ago. then today i received a notice stating that they have reopened the case and it needs reviewing! i don't get it !! my interview(if you can call it that) went smooth. all i needed to do was update my vaccinations, and send the results to the office . did that! the interviewer was really cool and laid back and told us it was pretty much granted. can they change their minds like that? has anyone else gone through this? how can they tell you you've been approved and a day later tell you something else?

i'm in the process of moving with my husband ( he's american citizen), to another state. i'm really worried !! need advice.......and encouragement!!!

I'd call the misinformation line first and have them see if there is some notation in the file.

It almost sounds to me like the emails got out of order.

PS - Are you moving NOW? With a greencard potentially on the way?

I called the 1-800 # on the notice and spoke to someone and they basically said that it was approved but they might need some additional info. or something . on the notice it said if i do move, to notify them. i'll be moving next week. my welcome letter said i would get my perm rez card in 3 weeks. then an email notice said 60 days??? then i got the letter saying they need to reopen my file! talk about confusing! my husband thinks it was a computer glitch or an error. i dunno. guess i'll have to wait and see. thanks for responding!

My wife and I just had this exact same thing happen to us. Interview went great, very fast, interviewer said we were fine and would get her green card in 3 weeks. We left, two days later we received a notice saying that that appointment had been canceled and we were not suppose to attend and 5 days after that we received her welcome notice. Then today a total of 15 days after the interview we receive a letter stating our case has been reopened and provides no additional information other than we will hear something in 30 days. We are very confused, thought everything was great but now we are just at a loss. I am curious who has gone through this in the past?
