ANY SUGGESTIONS ??? I called the NVC and they told me that there's still nothing, but I need to call the CSC to see if my petition has been sent, so I call the CSC and I think even if they know it's been shipped out they're not going to tell you, but they do say to contact the NVC to see if it's there !! What gives??? Sounds like the old "passing the buck routine"

Has anybody had any luck finding out for sure if their petition has been sent by the CSC, or is it just better to concentrate on calling the NVC and see if it shows up there ?? :crying: :crying:

Hi,

We have an appointment day for interview at US Embassy in Tokyo! Its Nov.26, 07.

A lady from US Embassy in Tokyo called me up for some missing papers, and when I explained my situation (we have two small children waiting for being reunited with his father), she gave me the appointment day on the phone without me receiving package 3 yet!!

I could book earlier day for the interview, but I need sometime to gather paperworks to bring in for interview.

Our case went amazingly fast after being approved in USCIS!!

I hope that people on visajourny.com will be reunited their love ones soon.

In my experience, NVC is organized and probably a lot better off technologically than USCIS. They will tell you what date it gets there, when it got sent off to the embassy, etc. Their customer service is very good when you get through to a live person. I never even tried calling USCIS because I've read on VJ about so many people calling there and just being fed a bunch of BS from someone who doesn't give a rat's ### about your application...then calling back the next day and hearing a completely different line of BS from someone else. Plus, I figured the time would go faster if I didn't think too much about the USCIS process that seemed to be getting longer and longer, especially after the fee increase fiasco. I think I just called NVC randomly about 5 or 6 months after my NOA1 and they had just received my paperwork!

I think I called NVC about a day after they had received it and they acknowledged the receipt. They told me to call back about two weeks later to check the status. I called about a week later and found out it had been forwarded to the embassy about two or three days after they had received it.

I called the embassy about three weeks or so after NVC had forwarded the paperwork to find out if they had received it. They said yes, and told me the interview date and said that my wife should have received the paperwork by now. If she didn't receive it soon, the lady said she should go to the embassy to get a copy of her packet 3/4. Erika called me a couple hours later and told me she received the paperwork in the mail.

My advice would be not to worry too much. If it's due at NVC soon, just call there once, maybe twice a week. Until then, there's nothing you can do to speed up the process. It's just a big waiting game, unfortunately.

Thanks so much. After talking to the CSC I figured out that once the petition is approved it gets sent to a staging area , where it is handled by contract workers so they really don't have a clue when it leaves and ends up at the NVC. I figured twice a week for the NVC will do.

One month for the transfer has become the norm for CSC. Your should reach NVC pretty soon. hang in there little bit more. good luck.

After we had waited 3 weeks from our approval my husband called CSC and NVC very often.

In most cases calling CSC was useless because every time they gave different information and said that everything was normal and in the time frame. Only once he received a useful info from a lady from CSC. This lady told that CSC has hired contractors who are dealing with the dispatch of cases to NVC. Moreover she put my husband on hold on and get through with this contractors to ask about the case. They said not to expect soon transfer because our I 129 F was sent to staging area not on 15 August (when was the approval) but on 5 September. Approx. three weeks later the case was received. So very rarely you can get through with somebody form CSC who will be useful.

I think that it is time for your case to be received - lately 5 - 6 weeks is the usual timeline for the transfer. This is very painful I know.Wish you big luck

Thanks Kalina and Zolanden. The encouragement I receive from the both of you means a LOT because of the long wait times the CSC put you through. It's 5 weeks for me today but I'm only going to call a couple of times a week. I'm not going to get obsessed ,I know it will be at the NVC very soon.
