You know you are living in 2007 when...

1. You accidentally enter your password on the microwave .

2. You haven't played solitaire with real cards in years.

3. You have a list of 15 phone numbers to reach your family of 3.

4. You e-mail the person who works at the desk next to you.

5. Your reason for not staying in touch with friends and family is that they don't have e-mail addresses.

6. You pull up in your own driveway and use your mobile phone to see if anyone is home to help you carry in the groceries.

7. Every commercial on television has a web site at the bottom of the screen.

8. Leaving the house without your mobile phone, which you didn't have the first 20 or 30 (or 60) years of your life, is now a cause for panic and you turn around to go and get it.

10. You get up in the morning and go on line before getting your coffee.

11. You start tilting your head sideways to smile.

12. You're reading this and nodding and laughing.

13. Even worse, you know exactly to whom you are going to forward this Message.

14. You are too busy to notice there was no number 9 on this list.

15. You actually scrolled back up to check that there wasn't a number 9 on this list.

Those were the signs of living in 1994 for me.

In 2007 ...

- you have a buddy group in your aim for your home

- to deal with house chores, you set up a server sending out notifications on Wednesday to remember to put the trash out on Thursday morning and try to find a washing machine that would be able to be connected to the internet so you can do your laundry online

- you have at least 5 virtual machines on each computer and server you own

- you realize that despite Microsoft's marketing, Vista isn't as usable as most of the unix based systems were by the mid-1980s

- you'll get an iPhone when you can run Skype in it. Or you'll use your DS lite for phone when it will have skype ..

- you'll make once a year an effort to be offline, that being camping or somewhere out of reach of the internet, and would not consider moving anywhere where you only get isdn

- no one that you know finds it odd that you met your spouse online. or they find it odd if someone found their spouse offline, if that was even not in work or school ...

I really miss the simple life of the 70's and 80's. Cash was king and kids didnt wear combat headgear to ride a bicycle with training wheels.
