Hello VJers! Next month my stepdaughter, age 14, is coming to the US! My wife and I are very excited, but now come the logistical worries. She will be arriving on a K2 visa, following her mother who arrived on a K1 in May. We're concerned about how Nung will connect flights and make it through immigration, given she speaks practically no english. Anybody encountered this? How helpful are airline personnel with minors? I tried to get United to assist my wife through immigration and customs in Washington, but they refused. My wife speaks some english, but still was unable to make her connection, it was a long and unnecessarily difficult journey for her. We both agree there is no way her daughter could make it on her own. Any pointers out there??

Thanks!

She is a minor, they shouldn't let her move without an escort. In the US she can't even leave her destination gate, you will have to meet her there with ID to get her. This is how it is with domestic flights i would only hope the same for international flights.

Yes. Go get her and bring her back with you. Is this really the first time you've thought about this?
