I have a 2 year greencard which expires this November. I complete the application I-751 Petition to Remove the Conditions of Residence with all necessary documentation.

I mailed everything on 7/26/07 to the Nebraska Service Center. Unfortunately I lost the receipt from the post office, so I have no way of tracking it. I do have the money order receipt. I've been checking for weeks now and it keeps saying that the money order has not been cashed. I do realize that it can take a while but honestly I am a little worried and don't know if they have received it or not.

Here is why. I filed everything before 7/30/07 that way I only had to pay $275 including biometrics.

They now changed the fee to $465 (plus $80 biometric service fee). Now you see why I'm so worried :)

Any suggestions?

Did you take into account that you can only file the I751 90 days prior to the expiration of your 2 year greencard? If yours expires in November, then it seems like you wouldn't be eligible to submit it until sometime in August. Beating the fee increase would be great, but I'm not sure that they'll accept an early petition, I've heard of some people having theirs sent back for filing too early. If my math is just off, then please ignore me, but I wonder if this has anything to do with not hearing anything back yet or not having your money order cashed yet. If that is the case, the good news is that it will be easy to refile in August, since you're all ready! I don't mean to stress you out any further, I just thought I'd mention this possibility.

Good luck, and anyone please correct me if any of this info is way off!

If you filed application outside 90 day window, your application will be sent back to you. Count 90 days backwards from date of conditional green card expiry date.

My Greencard expires on Nov 9th 2007 and the earliest date I could file was Aug 13th 2007 so I would guess your entire packet is on its way back to you... you filed to early and it wont be accepted.... when you get it back refile with the new fee and you should be ok....
